Holy crap, Bergeron retires.
I wonder if they'll look to move Marchand and start the rebuild.

I wouldn't even call it a rebuild.

They could deal Marchand, "retool" and within a year be just as good if not better than with Marchand.

They could definitely get a big return for him with 2 years left and only a 6m hit.

Why in the world would the Bruins deal Marchand?

Re: NHL 2023 Offseason

Imagine Brian MacLellan looking at how Lucic's contract turned out and thinking he should give more money and term to an older, worse version of Lucic just coming off ACL surgery.

"But mah leadership! Intangibles!! TEAM CULTURE!!!" (on a team that hasn't won a playoff series in 5 years)

I kind of admire Washington fully committing to the chase for 895 and 2018 memberberries. No pretense of contending ever again.

I'm not sure which I'm happier about: Getting Karlsson or unloading Granlund.

An absolute fantastic trade for the Penguins. I've tried to find one but can't see a bad side other than Karlsson's defense but the Penguins can live with that.

Re: NHL 2023 Offseason

Recent Leafs 1st round pick Rodion Amirov passes away after his battle with a brain tumor.

From what I've heard, seems like he was trying to make a comeback in hockey (he was out of action for a year or two) and next thing you know you find out this news.

And then Leafs legend Bobby Baun dies.

This really hasn't been a good offseason at all.
