So, just because they can do as they please, we shouldn't be able to comment about it? Seriously?

I get why they are doing this, apparently trading in stolen games has become a real issue, and they could find them selves liable in some way.

Am I off on this Aaron?
That's just it,though. The city of Philadelphia is on record as saying they don't consider Gamestop a pawn shop.

And honestly, lets stop with this stolen games nonsense

You can comment on it. If it's really that bothersome, don't do business with them. If they feel it's in the best interest to do so, it's their prerogative is it not?

I don't think the biggest issue is stolen games. It's stolen consoles.

Possibly. Although to me games are much easier and more plentiful to steal.. I know when I used to trade in games, the GS employees had commented multiple times about deterrents to stolen games.

I rarely trade games in anymore, most of my game purchases are of the digital variety now. So essentially GS gets none of my business at this point anyhow. .

But when you trade in a console at gamestop, don't they log the serial number in along with the information of the person trading it in? They've already got your personal info, there is no need for a fingerprint. At least I don't think there is.

Re: Philly Gamestop Now Requiring Fingerprints

You guys keep mentioning games..

This is more than likely due to game systems and phones/tablets that they now let you trade.

God knows those are very popular items that are stolen.

Would you not want to catch the thief that stole your ipad and traded into gamestop? This makes the police work a lot simpler.
