Philly Gamestop Now Requiring Fingerprints

Philly (city only, not suburbs) are now requiring you to give finger prints to trade in games. Gamestop must have gotten go ahead from corporate on this policy. I don't know how they think this won't hurt their business.

No way I would ever do that. Not that I have any reason to hide my finger prints, but I'm not giving the police access to them whenever they want.

Didn't Best Buy once had this same policy when they 1st started doing trades ?

Anyway I'm ex-military so my finger prints been on file for a long time anyway.

In Arizona and Utah the gamestops have had to do this for trade ins. When I was in Nevada this wasn't the policy.

The lady at the gamestop in Arizona tried explaining it to me saying the state considers them like a pawn shop.

I don't plan on breaking the law anymore, so I don't see why them having my fingerprints is a big deal. It won't deter me

Yep, the ones here in Santa Clarita were classified as pawn shops a few years ago. They've been requiring prints for a good while now.

Guess I'll be selling my unwanted games on Ebay should Kansas ever take up that policy. Will also let my Pro Membership expire as well.

I don't have anything to hide, I'm a retired cop and my fingerprints are on file in several places. It's just that I will never give them to a video game store...ridiculous.

Not sure how a stolen video game is going to be traced anyway. It's not like the games have serial numbers. Consoles are another matter I suppose but I won't adhere to the policy, just take my business elsewhere.
