Re: Offensive rebounding

I haven't really had too much trouble personally. When the CPU does beat me on the offensive glass, it's normally because I'm being beat on the perimeter and my bigs have to help out. So, I guess if there is an issue, it's my inability to guard perimeter players.

Re: Offensive rebounding

Just played another game, this time as the Timberwolves vs. Charlotte. I used rebounding POE from the start, both for offensive and defensive. I didn't get killed on the defensive glass and my team is still able to run so once again, I don't see why not emphasizing this every game. There were of course a few instances, one that really bothered me, when I personally boxed out Marvin Williams with Gorgui Dieng only to have Marvin jump over me, get the board and quick putback. I never had a chance. But whatever, every now and then it's not a big deal.

Offensively, while I got more offensive rebounds, with Pekovic in particular, it just doesn't seem worth it. Even Pek really struggled to finish inside. I had 1-2 quick putbacks but it seems when you're under the rim, just pressing square is simply not enough. I guess you've got to really work to shoot while a guy isn't in decent position defending you. CPU rarely goes for pump fakes this year too so that's not enough either. I figure this is the case to make it tougher for online play but it's pretty annoying, especially when the guy challenging your shot so that you miss is doing so from behind you when it looks like you have the advantage.

Again, I think the more I get used to the game, I'll start to figure things out. I'd advise using the POE and working as hard as possible to keep everyone in position. It was a little bit easier playing Charlotte because I just controlled Wiggins on defense mostly since MKG is no threat to shoot from the outside.

Re: Offensive rebounding

Has anyone tried turning up the box out assist slider in controller settings? Not the gameplay slider. There is one in the controller settings, right under defensive assist.

What are you seeing and what to you is the issue.

Is it User vs AI, or User vs User ?
Online or Offline ?
Do still experience it when you have better rate defensive rebounders vs weaker rated offensive rebounders ?
Do you experience it when crashing the glass via POE ?
Any video would be greatly appreciate so we can see the context etc.

Most Importantly make sure you feedback is coming from gameplay without custom slider adjustments. Preferably SuperStar SIM. But at least non custom sliders please.
I'm a beast at offensive rebounds online. I made a PF this year. I think finally there is a reason to be a big again.

Computer is tougher to get in on, too, but you can still seal them if you force your way inside. They box the hell out of you if you aren't though.

Re: Offensive rebounding

Actually on further thought I think the CPU just doesn't battle hard enough to get inside position. Maybe it's just that there isn't much in terms of animations that the players can really do to block opposing bigs from getting inside unless a shot has gone up. I'm getting a ton of offensive boards in MyCareer on HOF/sim even though my rebounding is something like 56 at the moment (I'm 6'11" though).

I feel like Reggie Evans.

Re: Offensive rebounding

Majority of all my losses have been the result of Off rebounds.

Online Match
Bulls vs Bucks(me)
I lost with 18 second chance points given up. 14 Off rebounds resulted to that.

MyTeam
Lets just say, I had 1 rebound with 2mins left in the 2nd quarter.
I got them to miss, but they got to the ball higher and faster than my guys with the POE set to Crash Def Rebounds.

And the key defensive stops you get is all eliminated when there team gets the OFF rebounds and you're yelling at the screen saying to yourself.....
REBOUND DA BALLLLLL!!!!!!!!

I'm still adjusting to 2k15. The game hasn't slowed down for me yet to really see whats going on but what I do see is that the CPU has the advantage all the time. You literally have to shove ppl in the paint to grab those boards.

Re: Offensive rebounding

i think its a matter of boxing out because i play the center on defense, box out and have no problem.

if a persons cpu teammates aren't boxing out, i could see where there could be a problem.
