Quick bone to pick here.

You're talking about TDawg, and I'm not sure why he picked 10 but it literally was just you and him. There have been a few one-offs and short lived guys here and there, but the XP Slider guys are literally me, you, and TDawg.

I've always used 20 years, and there's a very good reason for that.

It ensures Madden generated players are progressing properly and eliminates existing players from the data set. Every single player on the roster in year 20 is influenced ONLY by the XP awards I'm testing, not by the bias of the initial roster maker.

This should still hold up within a user vs user environment. The only thing I would think twice about is scenarios because they can inflate ratings.

Fair point. Maybe I got a little rambly. Had some messages last year with people criticizing my testing and maybe took it a bit personal.

Turns out I did take it personally and got a bit overboard. I edited the part in question.

I think you do fine. It's a different method. Mine and TDawgs were different too. I'm glad there's someone else doing it because this year will probably be my last.

Re: Funkycorm's Madden 24 XP Sliders

Just discovered that Chase Bescote wrote a short article about these sliders.

Incredible!

I am truly humbled!

Big shout out to him!

Re: Funkycorm's Madden 24 XP Sliders

What's the consensus on using a few user draft classes?

I'm leaning towards fictional but curious what others are doing.

So for me, if I were to use other classes, I would use fictional. From my previous experiences, most "real" classes tend to be overinflated in ratings and dev traits. And fictional does tend to be more balanced if they are created with care but can be overinflated as well.

My overall answer would lean toward fictional rosters though.
