Re: EA Sports sending out player NIL contracts today

I don't see too many guys opting out because they will be like, "Dude, we're in a video game!"

Re: EA Sports sending out player NIL contracts today

There's absolutely going to be way more opt-ins than opt-outs.

I'm sure there will be obviously be some because it's gonna be hard to go 11K-for-11K, but we'll get pretty close.

The individual players we're seeing are just the ambassadors that EA picked. Then we get situations like Michigan State where it's already been stated that all 85 players are expected to opt-in.

600 bucks is still a decent amount of change for a college student, regardless of their upbringing or background or "XX can get way more than that just from autographs" or whatever.

600 bucks, plus seeing yourself in a video game that you get for free? Shoot, we may go 11K-for-11K lol.

Re: EA Sports sending out player NIL contracts today

99% of the kids are a bunch of no-names that even the fans of their teams don't even know, so their value is not that high. For each Jaden Milroe and Quinn Ewers there are 70 other players on their own team that their NIL probably isn't even actually worth the near $700 value in compensation that they are getting.

College football is not a star driven sport. Most years there are only a small handful of players that everyone nationally knows. These are the guys that are worth more than what they are getting, and these are the guys that are signing lucrative NIL deals. The vast majority of their teammates are not, however. Unless you're a Texas Longhorn, your average OL starter for any P4 team is not someone even the average fan of their team knows the name of and that is an indication of how little value their NIL actually carries.

$600 is nothing to a lot of the players but at the same time it's $600 + whatever the game cost that they didn't have before. They also won't make or break the game anyways if they aren't in it so they couldn't negotiate much.

At the top level schools, NIL is crazy. I wonder how the NIL and portal will affect offline play. Watch them sell $1 for 100,000 in game NIL money.

Re: EA Sports Sending Player NIL Contracts Today to Opt In For College Football 25

Plus it's been said they could earn mode from being an ambassador and promoting the game. Most players just want to be in the game. Especially 18-24 years Olds who will be playing it.

I don't think there will be many holdovers. Like canes said, College Football isn't a star driven sport. It helps when there is a very marketable player. But people love college football because of the passion, traditions, rivalries, pageantry, schools, etc. Plus this year's crop of players aren't as well-known outside of the top guys. I got into CFB last few years because of this game coming back. But there is about 90% of the schools where I don't know any players names or maybe a couple max.

I can almost promise for every 1 Travis Hunter there's 50 dudes that could use the money. I don't know why people think that NIL means every single college football player is making serious bank now.

Every single player at schools that matter is getting paid. It's not 100,000s but it's enough with all the other free stuff. There's probably close to 100 schools where some or all players get nothing though. They just don't matter and will accept whatever is offered. EA is overpaying most of the players but they don't want the PR hit for paying them $25-50.
