Assuming none of the over 12,300 are Service Academy athletes, between 130 schools this is well over 1000 players more than needed to have 85 man rosters. What will be interesting is to hear if EA will still pay those players who don't make the cut. That would be $600,000 just for that one thousand players. Maybe they will increase the rosters to 95 man rosters.

My guess is it was in the legal contract that you don’t get paid unless they put you on the roster. That gives the roster makers some flexibility to pick between a generated player that’s good or a walk on Lower rated
