Re: 2024 Offseason Thread

Saw someone on Twitter say Fields isn't coming to Pittsburgh to compete for the starting job, he's coming to sit behind a Super Bowl-winning QB and learn.

Re: 2024 Offseason Thread

I would have thought Fields would fetch at least as much as Sam Howell or Kenny Pickett in a trade. Even SF got more for Trey Lance

Howell’s still got 2 years left on a 5th round deal. Last year of a first round contract for Fields too.

Re: 2024 Offseason Thread

Now the question is do the Steelers pick up the 5th year option. This is why as an Eagles fan, I was okay with not trading for him. It's okay if the mindset set is we're trading a 6th round pick for a backup we think has a chance at starting. But, I don't see them picking up his $25M option, especially for someone who will go into the season as a backup. The issue is that they will be going into the season with both QBs are on one year deals. I do think Fields definitely has a chance of Playing Time if Wilson falloff continues.

Re: 2024 Offseason Thread

Did Tomlin ever get/sign an extension after the season?

If not, man that’s risky business tying your job/future with the team to either of these 2 QBs, especially when you’re coming up on possibly 9 years since you’re last playoff W, which for a franchise like Pittsburgh says a lot.

With all the changes being made it's on him now imho.
