Re: S & B’s MLB 2024 Simulation Sliders

So I decided I would go ahead and purchase 24, and I’m really glad I did. It just feels better all around, and I’m loving it.

So far I’ve played 10 games. Still a small sample size I know, but I’m finding there to be a little too many home runs. 20 HRs in 10 games. I’m not too concerned as I’m willing to give it another 20 games or so just to see if things even out.

One question I do have to you guys. This is probably just on me, I’ve always struggled to draw walks. I guess I’m just too impatient haha. But I do find the CPU throwing too many strikes. My strikeout numbers are a little on the low side, but again I’m not too concerned. What slider would you decrease in order for the CPU to maybe throw more balls? Strike Frequency, Control or consistency?

Cheers guys!

Glad you are enjoying the game. It is amazing.

For the home runs, I would lower power or solid hits. You could also raise pitcher consistency so there would be less meatballs.

For the walks, I would recommend lowering cpu strike frequency. That would help. Another thing that helps me, is lowering pitch speed to 4. You can read the ball more and lay off more bad pitches. I wouldn’t mess with control and consistency as that might mess up other things.

He got injured in the game I'm playing now after 3 innings but I hit him for 2 Homers. But man I assume this is due to the wind blowing out 12mph but after 6 innings the dodgers have hit me for 6 hr's. I've hit 3 with the jays!

You're using directional or timinghitting interface right? Try HOF hitting or Legend if you're already using HOF. Hitting is very much based mostly on user skill because timing is everything. You could just be really good at reading and reacting. A smaller PCI may be best way to tone down your hitting.

That will attribute to some, but still shouldn't hit 12 in one game, like ever lol.

You could raise pitch speeds, go to legend, drop user timing. Trust me I am struggling still to find a good hitting slider set myself. My hit distribution is perfect, so not too many homeruns or doubles. But I am batting .290 over 15 games and just my feel is telling me that will not go down much. Finding a good setup for your hitting is probably more difficult than pitching.

Suggestion...maybe play as random teams in franchise games just to see any difference over time? Probably what I'll do if the next change I am trying myself doesn't help.
