Damn, it would suck if another company is getting out of the console business. I definitely hope that isn't the case, but we'll see....

A lot of people are really overreacting about it. For one, afaik, we're mostly talking about games going on other platforms well after they've released on Xbox. Which Sony has also been doing with their exclusives onto PC. For two, people are acting like this means everyone is going to lose access to all their games in the very near future. As if Xbox is going to totally shutter their doors and come door to door repossessing Xbox's.

Microsoft ports their first party exclusives to Sony/Nintendo platforms, Xbox will die because if you know that you're getting everything on PlayStation (Sony's first party games, Microsoft's first party games, Japanese games, Indies, AA titles and everything else in between) why would anyone spend money buying an Xbox console?

As for Game Pass, Microsoft may eliminate the day one releases from first party or make it only available on Game Pass Ultimate which will decrease the interest of jumping into the Xbox platform.

For me personally, im old school. I believe that if you're a hardware manufacturer (Microsoft/Nintendo/Sony), you MUST have exclusive games and content in order to get consumers into your brand, platform and eco-system. Once you go against this, there's no point in jumping into that particular brand.

I'm waiting until next week to see what Microsoft says but im expecting to have more questions after the Business Meeting instead of answers.

Them changing day 1 for gamepass would certainly be interesting especially considering they have touted that for some time but if it’s true they aren’t making money or enough money maybe that will help but I also feel like that will hurt too.

Yeah, I don't think they'll totally go 3rd party either, more just looking for ways to make more money which is fine with me. I can imagine a world where they still have 1st party but also just open it up eventually to other platforms. As long as there's Game Pass that offers decent value I don't care.
