Don't shed a tear for me, I logged over 1200 hours playing '23 on my PS5. So I think making the $80 game purchase for '24, I definitely will get my money worth this year as well.

It's basically the price of 2 family pizza nights. I think I'll manage. LOL.

Re: MLB The Show 24 Gameplay Improvements and Trailer Revealed

I watched a YouTube video recently on the shifting perceptions of gamers and gaming. It was pretty well done.

Ultimately we are apart of annual corporate gaming. The cons as time passes with each title. Lots of games have foundations that are on 15-20 year innovation pivots without completely destructing a game… which is where the annual deadlines come into play it’s merely unrealistic to expect a substantially different product year over year.

Add in the fact that now on top of that games are being worked on and updated for 4 months on average post launch.

Remember the days where we may have see. 1-2 patches the whole title year? Now we are seeing 5-10

Its corporate; it’s beyond the lead designer and respective teams.

Loot boxes, micro transactions, dlc and patches rule the workload.

Each game is profiting much more in loot box modes vs standalone modes vs AI.

Honest reviews vs monetary revenue which is better for corporate business?

I have game pass and while it’s a tad disappointing I’m still ecstatic that imo the industry’s best sports simulation as far as replicating the sport is for free.

The show is also the least infuriating of the trio (Madden , 2k and MLBTS )

But realistically as gamers we have changed. The pure bliss of our favorite games finding their identity and staples have been pretty sedimentary. The one thing that could of changed was every title making a standalone game from scratch when the current gen consoles dropped but none of that ideology aligns with annual deadlines and year over year revenue expectations.

So here we are in the limbo of gaming especially sports gaming in the current state.

I could buy the standard version nearly 10 times and it would cost me less than your suggestion of paying $500 for a new console and a years subscription to Gamepass

They’ll eventually get it right, but I’d imagine it’s not easy to do mo-cap for pitchers because you aren’t going to get a guy throwing 100% just for a video game. With 2k pulling in animations from real games, the hope is that similar tech can be used for other games so we get much more realistic animations from the individuals themselves.

There is no way the pitch clock will have any impact on the game. The CPU throws within 7 seconds. It’s be a user thing only if anything and won’t be used online since they make you throw before the pitch clock would run out anyway.

If they did NOT fix the check swing called strike glitch, it's almost a game breaker.. the slightest tap and it's called a strike every time

I certainly haven’t mastered it. I’d say 95% of the time I get a strike. Needs a little tuning, imo, but not a game breaker.
