Unless they balance it out with adding in 0-0, 1-0 and 0-1 counts... which I never understood why those aren't in there for realism sake. The game would still move much faster with still having the ability at times to hit an actual first pitch hit, or having some 1-0/0-1 mixed in there.
Yeah I've been asking for random 0-0 generated counts for years now. Idk what to do this year. Only way to continue using QC is to raise pitcher stamina up to probably 7 or 8 at least. Pitch counts will be unrealistic but just gonna have to ignore that if we want to keep using QC. I just can't understand why after 9 years they decide to change how it works. It was perfect before, only need was a few more generated counts added in like you said.

Was the same exact thing on the Tech Test.

I reported on it….and why did they screw around with all the toggles. Makes zero sense what they did.

Oh well…one of several reasons we sat it out. The Tech Test was a good thing to help make my decision easier.

You can turn fielding aids on, and then toggle the additional aids off and leave the API option on.

Its not an all or nothing option.

Re: MLB The Show 23 Impressions (Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5)

So I decided to wait a day to post my impressions of the game that way I had a full day to just play it non stop before I wrote down my thoughts.

The on-field gameplay IMO is the best it has ever been. They really and truly have nailed down the game of baseball on the field. The hit variety has been incredible and I'm getting hits that I've never gotten before in all of my years playing The Show

The atmosphere is wonderful. The crowd noise, the glove pops, and the bat sounds are all a definite improvement I think. The bat sounds could use a little tweaking, but overall I really like them. When you make solid contact it truly sounds incredible.

Graphically I think the game looks amazing, but that's just me. There's always things that could be worked on like player models, dirt, grass, etc....but to me the lighting in the game is fantastic. The ball parks have never looked better, and they play larger as well than what they have in the past. I love that we can play in the negro league stadiums in regular exhibition games bc Old Comiskey is a fun place to play. As far as uniforms....to my eye they look better than they did last year, but I truly believe that your tv setup matters and that can play alot into how the game looks. I have a LG C1 and everything looks phenomenal.

I have not gotten into Franchise or RTTS yet bc I'm waiting for opening day rosters for that, but I'm having a blast just playing exhibition games with different teams. And I can tell a huge difference in playing with a team such as the Tigers, to a team like the Braves. I struggle big time to score runs with my Tigers, but with a powerhouse offensive team I'm hitting and scoring alot better....which is how it should be.

I do wish that all the options and settings were a little more user friendly, as it seems like they moved quite a bit of things around this year, so it took me a minute to figure out where certain things were at. Still no option to turn off the darn home run cam, which isn't a big deal, just an option I wish we had.

Still no AJ Hinch face scan and he's going on his third year of being the manager for the Tigers. The only thing that I can think of is that he just doesn't make himself available to be scanned for the game, which obviously isn't the dev teams fault.

Overall, I'm having a complete blast with the game and I can already tell that I will be hooked for the year just like always. Gonna be hard to wait to start my Tigers franchise! Happy gaming everyone and Go Tigers!

Re: MLB The Show 23 Impressions (Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5)

A few more minor impressions..

The bat sounds are a thing of beauty. There are a few instances where I think some contact sounds a bit too soft, but overall they’re much improved. Really sounds like a bat hitting a ball. Also, the ball physics are the best they’ve ever been. It’s a very minor thing but it makes a world of a difference.

Bad fielders actually take bad routes to balls and sometimes make routine mistakes on both the infield and outfield. This is the first time I really feel like having good defensive ratings matter. It’s a welcome change

The presentation is excellent. I finally caved and got an expensive set of gaming headphones and oh man, the sounds at the park are beautiful to hear. You really don’t know how much you’re missing without a decent audio setup. Sure, the commentary will get repetitive but it feels fresh even after only 1 year together, they’ve laid down a lot of new lines of commentary.

The Pro Yakuu Spirits bat PCI is a thing of beauty. I’ll never go back to another type of PCI. It takes a bit to get used too, but it takes away a lot of the guesswork of where the PCI was “supposed to be” in correlation to where it actually is. Great job.

Overall, I’m impressed. Having a blast in DD and playing some exhibition games with MLB teams. Going to be putting a lot of time into the game this year, just like every year.

I’ve said my thoughts on franchise and RTTS More than enough so I’ll spare those. This game is baseball. I mean at the end of the day it’s an incredible simulation of the on the field sport and that’s enough to keep me coming back for more along with the re-commitment to enticing content in DD to get me engrossed all year. Good job SDS. Now let’s just work on those graphics for next year …

I just noticed that with fielding aids on, the button accuracy meter is larger and much easier to use. With it off, the meter is harder to use. Very weird bug.

They need to darken the catcher’s mitt or something when using API. I use API for Spring Training and you barely can see where the glove is.
