This being called Season one, I'm guessing Josh Gibson is coming in a later season. And if he doesn't it might be because his family wouldn't sign the rights to them.

The Negro League inclusion is great, reminds me very much of the Jordan Challenge mode from 2K. Being able to get these players as Diamond cards in DD makes it that much sweeter. Love that these players finally get the recognition they deserve in this game.

Probably won’t touch RTTS at all this year, and I’ll start a franchise after a few patches and some good rosters are out.

The meat and potatoes of this game is Diamond dynasty for me, and thankfully, it looks to be incredibly deep and fun this year. Being able to use Derek Jeter and Big Mac this year has me salivating.

All in all, if not for the updates to DD I could have stuck with the Show 22 and not have missed out on much at all.

For DD players, its like having Christmas morning with 50 professionally decorated presents under the tree every week for the next 12 months. Franchise is like one present wrapped with newspaper and twine and inside is the game you got last year.

One thing to keep in mind for folks on the ps5: This year it’s going to be tough to distinguish any ‘slight graphical improvements’ from the impact of the recent firmware upgrade due to the timing.

Having said that if it looks better I’m not going to be picky about why, I’ll just appreciate it.

The presentation this year is simply outstanding. Loving the new screenwipes, in between innings segments and presentational elements. Well done.

Cool that the Show Midwest regional logo for the Cardinals is the station (Show Midwest) underneath the Arch.

Also cool to hear Boog say you're watching Major League Baseball on the Show Midwest.

The scouting UI definitely is a downgrade. Very clunky interface with no ability to view larger lists of players or to sort by specific attributes.

We really need an alternate screen where all prospects can be quickly be viewed/compared/sorted. This one player-at-a-time thing just wastes a lot of time. I may just wind-up automating it...

The rosters are a total mess, but then again I never use SDS because the OS pros here do it so much better.

Fielding is challenging but a lot more realistic I think. Now I'll never rob a homer again...

Graphics remain the same and I'll continue to blame the game being on Switch and prev-gen consoles for that. Oh well. It won't crash every 8 times I play like Madden.

Scouting and signing draft picks is definitely more immersive, if a little wonky with the different screens. It's mere existence is a good step in the right direction.

I simmed through a franchise season with Toronto to see how trades and such would go. The CPU still likes being ripped off. Also, I can still get Trout and Soto for spare parts, which SDS explicitly said wouldn't happen anymore. Also, I haven't seen the market tier limits they talked about in action either (small market teams can't spend lots of budget, etc.). Heading in year two Baltimore has a $260 million payroll after free agency and arbitration.

Pitching is as fun as ever. Acquiring Spencer Strider and going for those 300 K's

Just downloaded the game. It’s fun. I’m mostly a Madden player so this is relatively new to me. At what difficulty level do most people compete?

Can believe I’m going to have to go through a season to still hear about gleyber Torres getting traded for Chapman.. can’t believe they left those stories in.. commentary is so repetitive
