Will EA CFB 25 coming back impact whether you buy Madden this year?

Leaning towards "EA Sports College Football 25 only". Even if Madden franchise mode were perfect, I think online Dynasty is a more interesting video game to play because the roster turnover is so much faster, creating much-needed downward pressure against roster power creep.

Admittedly I could be swayed if Madden NFL 25 invests heavily in playbooks / updates to on-field strategy, the core economics and salary cap / roster management mechanics of Franchise mode, and team-specific presentation to make each game feel less sterile.

EA Sports first voiced a desire to pay players literally a decade ago when the NCAA Football series was cancelled. Unlike the NCAA, which continues to forbid direct payments from schools to student-athletes and is fighting tooth-and-nail in the court system to preserve that actually-exploitative arrangement, EA Sports has followed through with that desire. The video game company is absolutely not the exploiting party here.

Beyond that, unfortunately there is not yet college football equivalent to the NFL Players Association with which college football players may collectively negotiate for a better payout. That absence of collective bargaining power — which is enjoyed by professional athletes in all the major American professional sports leagues via their respective unions — is the primary reason the member institutions of the NCAA currently pay the football players $0.

This is exactly the reason i'm really excited about this game. In Madden, your roster is set after a few years and the way they have the cap expanding far beyond realistic numbers there's just no challenge to team building. I love the college way of needing to replace players every 3-4 years at the max, and even more often with the transfer portal.

I will wait to see what the reviews are for that game, I mean it still is EA. I typically play madden until the show comes out, then play the show until madden comes out again in August

I honestly wondered even in NCAAs hayday, if it ever had any impact on which game you buy. I know for me it doesn't. But I guess that's me... one has nothing to do w/ the other.

Gonna be a wait and see for me. If I enjoy the game more than Madden, then that will be the deciding factor.

If it's the same ol madden we been getting for the last 5 years I'll be perfectly content to just play College Football only

I have already expressed my views on Madden so I will leave it as I am not buying it.

I picked the CFB only option but I am more in a wait and see what the game holds before I buy. Assuming there is preorders, I will not be preordering it. EA will need to wow me with thr CFB title to even get me to buy it on day 1.

But I will let them show me what they have done in CFB first.
