I don’t think this is a case of exploitation if they don’t have to be in the game. Now if it was part of some deal with the university that forced them too then yeah. Or even how it used to be when everyone knew it was based on the real player. Beyond that there are over 120 schools with at least probably 75 people per school. This game never sold as much as Madden. I’m 100% against taking advantage of people for things that are necessary to survive but for a video game if they don’t like it just don’t be in the game. If enough guys do it EA will reconsider if they want to make it or pay more to the players. Personally I’d buy it without any real players anyway.

In answer to the question will probably buy Day 1. At very least wait for 1st price drop to read some reviews and see how different it is. Madden will be what I did this year. Wait until it drops to $40 a few weeks after release unless it’s really bad and maybe finally skip a year.

That only further proves that college football is not raking in as much money as the NFL. The NFL set their revenue goal to just under $30 billion. Each NFL team is clearing half a billion in revenue themselves at minimum. Not even half the colleges in football are making even $100 million in revenue.

And we are only talking revenue, not even net income, so while many of these programs bring in lots of money, they are spending even more, especially when you consider that due to title ix, these colleges have to carry a significant amount of non-profitable athletic programs to counter the football scholarship count and the football programs end up subsidizing these programs.

What would be a figure that would not be considered exploitation?

I think it would be dumb to opt-out. The game is going to go on with or without you. EA will still make their money while you'd be throwing away a free $600 that CFB plus a free copy of the game.

Having grossed $18.6 billion last year... Thats a pretty big shortfall.

Electronic Arts, the issue at hand, is valued at $37 billion.

What do you think Shedeur Sanders is going to think of that $600 dollar offer? I have little doubt what will happen when they try to put the likeness of any Colorado QB "in the game" next year.

I honestly don't know.

I think this is over before it has begun. EA went about this all wrong. The only way I see it getting done is 100% generic.

Ok, Ok, we get it... you don't want there to be a CFB game. You just want another lawsuit. Can we move on and get back to the purpose of this thread?

Yep. Shame on me for thinking players that make the game possible deserve more than this pathetic offer.

I buy Madden every year anyway. But this year I will have significantly more interest knowing I have a full month and a half of college football players and stories to liven up my Madden franchise. I only hope now that the NFL Draft and combine have been proved. Just give me the one from the last few Maddens on PS2 where we could play the senior bowl and stuff.
