I think a lot of people are just fed up with the overall package of the NFL over the last few years.

College football is rising fast in popularity, while the NFL, quite simply, is not.

Which is why EA College Football is going to be much bigger than EA realizes.

I agrre with all of that except for the last bit. I suspect EA knows they have an excellent chance to catch lightning in a bottle with college football. And maybe it will even be good for their Madden brand in the long road too. Because I believe healthy competition is a good thing, and CFB may give the Madden side of EA the push it desperately needs. I don't think the old NCAAf series could push Madden the way it needed to be just for the fact there were no real players ''officially'' in that series and that's going to be a huge not-so-secret weapon for EA CFB this time around.

I think EA is already confident about EA CFB 25. I don't think no way they would be okay with releasing it current gen only if they didn't think it would sell well. Yes, we are closing in on the end of the cross gen period. But, I'd imagine they would've sold a lot more and brought in more revenue if they went cross gen. The fact that they didn't, shows that they feel it can sell well as a current gen exclusive. Regardless of how we feel, College Football is a niche sport, so I somewhat expected EA to go cross gen for the first release. Plus, it seems like they are really investing a lot into CFB.
