There are built in formation subs in the game - if you play the game you will see fatigue isn't the primary cause of getting backs carries.

Play with the Ravens and Gus Edwards is the RB in the I-Formation for example; many teams RBs change when you go from under center to Shotgun.

This is part of what makes testing this difficult. The specialist depth chart positions as well as the special formations some teams have will make it appear as teams are rotating backs based off fatigue, but it very well may just be formation driven.

In testing auto subs, I am still seeing guys get to fatigue levels like 78% and not rotate out. This is at all positions with me pumping the auto subs up to 95/90 just to see if any movement will ever happen. I can only see the numerical value for my guys fatigue levels pre-snap, so I have no idea what the CPU guys are numerically, but I can see their heavy breathing pre-snap animation that only triggers when fatigue is below a certain value, so I know they aren't coming out when their fatigue hits below 90 either.

This is all on PC, so maybe auto subs are working differently on different platforms.

Ah damn good to know. That probably renders most of my previous post useless

And honestly, auto subs seem to be working just fine for me. I’m seeing 6-10 carries from AI teams backups every game. Also, 6 weeks into the season with progressive fatigue on, you definitely see more auto subs. I’m just simply not having the issues that most people are reporting on this. After playing around with the sliders, I seem to have them working (at least enough to make me happy)

Fatigue: 90
Player RB auto subs: 95/90 (or higher, like 98/95 for more subs…even 90/85 works for a few carries)
Injuries: 25

Random notes:

I’m seeing like 4-6 injuries per game. One of them missed a week. So don’t be scared to try high fatigue

Sometimes it takes a drive for the starter to come back (which is realistic) if you

With progressive fatigue on, you’ll see more auto subs as the season progresses. At least this is what I’ve noticed 6 weeks in

Adjust auto subs for all positions and AI teams. You’ll notice auto subs are definitely working if you set auto subs for positions other than RB

I’m running 12 min quarters and 18 second runoff

Played the Falcons and all three of their RBs had over 5 carries (Robinson 14, Algier 6, Paterson 6) so I can confirm that 3rd stringers work too
Is this with you not changing the cpu autosubs? Or did you create a coach for the team, change their autos show, and then retire?

If not, I'll just play several games with fatigue at 90 and see what happens

I created coaches for every team, changed the auto subs for every position, and retired them

Re: Auto Subs not working

Connolly, have you figured out what to set subs at for weeks 13+ to get rotations but not disappearing players?

I’d love to know if this can be figured out with progressive fatigue on…

Why in 2023 do we still have to do these things to have any sort of realistic game

I'm pretty sure you alleviate the disappearing player issues by turning off progressive fatigue. It's not great but may fix this issue.
