Re: College Football Off Topic

I'm not sure how I feel about the Transfer Portal. I get it from both sides. I get the "Coaches get to come and go whenever they chose, so players should have the same right" or I understand "Players were already getting paid to play at certain places, it's just out in the open" or "Coaches aren't committed to a school, so players shouldn't be forced to stay 'loyal'." I just don't care for how blatant Pay for Play is for certain situations or obvious tampering or seeing reports that players who aren't in the Portal are asking around for their market value. I don't mind a guy transferring for an better opportunity or certain playing time. For some guys, it's easy to read the room and knowing whether they might not get a fair chance at a starting spot, especially if they have limited eligibility left.

If they could stop tampering to an extent, I think that would help.

Most of those guys were projected to have very limited roles

I saw a tweet where last year there were only 90 FBS players that entered the Spring Portal, this year there were 90+ before 11am this morning. I think most of the notable players will nter within first couple days I feel most of the players that enter in the final 10 or so days are guys that end up staying in the Portal

The issue with wanting to build through the portal, is now with essentially unlimited transfers is that when a player knows he isn't going to be a starter, I don't blame them from wanting to go elsewhere. It's something that is now available for players, so if might as well take advantage. Guys want to play and/or go pro and you're not going to on the bench.

The spring portal is mostly guys realizing that they aren't going to start. There is so few starting quality players hopping in the spring portal. Those few are usually NIL related, issues with coach/team, scheme fit, or want a change of scenery
