Mind you I'm far from an expert here, this is just my basic level understanding of things. So someone with more knowledge of finances and such can probably chime in here.

But yes in order to take the company back private, Vince would have to buy back all the outstanding shares of the company at a set price, likely above market value of the shares in order to get the shareholders to agree to sell.

The amount of hoops Vince would have to jump through just to try to avoid answering to a board of directors wouldn't even be worth it since we're looking at billions of dollars he doesn't have to buy back those shares. He'd have to find someone to partner with to help him get the funds for the purchase but he'd be in the same situation because he'd essentially be sharing power in the company with the partner.

Re: For Sale: WWE?!

If Vince is wanting $9B, that brings the Saudis back into play. I think they are the only entity that would be willing to pay that much.

And I thought $6B was astronomical.

Re: For Sale: WWE?!

Faber said “we can all take our educated guesses” on potential buyers, mentioning Endeavor Group, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, a private equity interest that could be in partnership with a well-known name in the sport, and perhaps Liberty Media, an investment firm based in Colorado. It was noted that Endeavor would do a reverse Morris trust, which would see them spin-off the UFC into a new company and merge that with WWE.

The report today now suggests some buyers want McMahon part of the deal....Stephanie McMahon.

Who knows where this will wind up. I don't see Stephanie returning if it sells to the SA group.

I wonder who that private firm with a "well known name in the sport" is. Could that be The Rock joining up somehow? There have been rumors lately that he's also interested in teaming with a group looking to buy the Ottawa Senators in the NHL. I could see the WWE purchase more intriguing for obvious reasons.

Sounds like Endeavor buying WWE and WWE/UFC will become a single publicly traded company? Will that company just be like what Titan Sports was?

I have no idea how to feel about this. Will this change how the network is run? How PLEs are priced? Will it impact TV shows in any way?

If they go back to regular PPV pricing again, I don't think I'm gonna bother with paying for those at all.

WWE really hit a sweet spot once Vince left and HHH took over. And the PLE schedule for 2023 looks great. Now all that could just be a short lived saga while things take a big step back with $70 PPVs again?

If HHH remains in charge of creative and Vince is only doing the business side of things (basically like the figurehead position) then that's fine. But if Vince is the one messing with creative again, laying people off, then how soon before HHH and Stephanie form their own wrestling company lol

Unless they decide to take it off Peacock and move to potentially ESPN, nothing will really change. Not sure why it would, honestly.

I'm very okay with this deal, and seems Vince is as well. Getting ~$3 billion more than your companies worth is a pretty snazzy deal.
