Re: FIFA 2019 Women's World Cup

Odd question, but I just realized this is a great place to ask it. (this section on OS, not just this thread)

When it comes to international competitions, is anyone else here a complete contrarian jerk who does not cheer for their own country? I'm from, and reside in the US—however, I'm never really pulling for them. I'm not very patriotic about anything, and I loathe the short-term hysteria that World Cups bring to the country.

Germany is who I'm always supporting just due to heritage, but even today I'm like yeah France, take care of business so I can stop hearing people talk about the sport who only want to talk about it when it fits into their patriotic or nationalistic view.

Am I the only jerk here?

Re: FIFA 2019 Women's World Cup

On a related note, I'll never pull for Germany on the women's side. Easily the most arrogant and entitled side in women's football, and I'm including the US in that, who have been pretty bad in the past. They are also ultra rough, but at the same time huge divers.

Don't mind too many teams in the women's game, but Germany is an absolute no every time for me.

I personally love that it was Rapinoe, mostly because it continues the internationally known phenomenon known as "Don't let Mike criticize a player" Every time I legitimately criticize a player they do something that proves me wrong.

we also got this beaut of an image:

In that case, I've got a list of players I'd like for you to start criticizing.
