Sorry Oakland folks, I'm already planning the Vegas stadium details
wait, didn't the Marlins just remove that from their outfield?

also, if Miami's mascot is Billy Marlin then any betting town like Vegas has to have Pet Rose as it's mascot.
and if Vegas is ever allowed into the baseball family, Charlie Hustle gonna be spinning in his grave

And also a season long bingo game in RF. Every time the ball lands in the bingo zone, a bingo ball gets pulled out. Fans must purchase their card before the season begins, and throughout the season they might slowly get to fill out their bingo card. One row complete gets you a jersey. Two rows gets you tickets to a game. A full card gets you season tickets.

I think we might be on to something.
Just wanted to point out that what you're talking about isn't what you typed lol

Re: MLB Off-Topic

Adding Russian roulette to baseball would definitely boost the ratings. Not sure how it would affect pace of place or analytics.

Re: MLB Off-Topic

Just a note for anyone trying to resell tickets.

Not sure if it's this year or it happened before, but barcodes don't work when sending/selling tickets through stubhub. At least not yet. So when selling, make sure your "tickets will be ready by" date is as late as you can. Not sure when it'll be activated, maybe when season starts, or closer to your specific event day.

I wonder if that's done to prevent double resells.

So now the person you sell to won't flip it immediately for more money or something.

The Bautista day here blew up. Sucks I didn't get more tickets when I had the chance. $30 tickets now reselling for over 3 times the amount of money. I'm already going for free and then some, so I'm glad about that...unless someone wants to buy my lone ticket left for some insane price. I might do it as a joke to see if some site picks up on it. If you hear some story on BR or somewhere like that about some crazy Jays fan wanting millions of dollars for tickets, you know the origin story.

Realistically, I'm putting it at a few thousand and hoping some fan who has one too many just buys it even as a mistake, because StubHub has to compensate whichever side got shafted if someone backs out (which is also why a joke listing price might backfire if the buyer claims false info)

Re: MLB Off-Topic

Picking back up the pitch clock talk. A long but interesting read from a TV perspective about the clock.

https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2595431

Different networks will try different things to see what people like the most, but I wonder what will be the one that sticks.

I wouldn't mind the compromise of no clock on TV until it gets down to those final few seconds (aka the time where batters must be ready, all the way until the pitcher pitches). But at the same time, make the clock look good and not sticking out in a bad way.

And from a commentators perspective, outside of the fact that it's just a matter of getting use to change, I don't see how they won't mind a shorter/faster game. You don't need to fill as much of the broadcast with random topics for the sake of talking. And networks don't need to show 10 replays an inning because nothing's happening between pitches. Hopefully this doesn't lead to them going to random crowd shots or replays which cause viewers to miss more pitches. Seems to happen a few times every game where you miss a pitch because they were too busy showing some random fan eating popcorn in the stands, or a replay of where a foul ball landed.
