Re-post from the 2013 thread:

Apparently Tanaka has added Chicago to his ideal destinations, and the Cubs are "major players". Someone said they'd "be surprised if [the Cubs] don't get him".

Would love to have Tanaka in Chicago. I think he would be a good fit.

re: MLB Off-Topic

Interestingly Al Leiter did a comparison of Tanaka to Hiroki Kuroda. Obviously Tanaka has better stuff and that splitter is amazing but I wonder if playing in Wrigley would hurt his numbers a bit.

Does anyone know what his career fly ball to ground ball ratio was in Japan?

I'm watching the 30 for 30 about fantasy baseball, and it's incredibly fun and amusing. Maybe in my Top 5 30 for 30s.

So recently the Washington Nationals made a pitch to their local government about putting a roof on nationals park.

Don't get why MLB Network wants to assign a "face of the franchise" to each team so badly....

https://twitter.com/MLBNetwork

Just like how ESPN tries to hard to assign a face of MLB and stuff. Trying to figure out who is the posterboy of MLB.

I think it's just a fun thing to do during the offseason. Baseball is one of those sports where there really isn't one transcendent star to carry the banner of the entire sport.

Anywho, i'm sure Jose Bautista will be voted the Face of the Blue Jays. (if they haven't done them yet)
