For what it worth, Evans is a superior candidate to Baines.

Both are borderline IMO though I didn't realize how many career wins Andy had until I saw it listed while watching the ALCS this year. I believe this is his last season though so I dunno. I think he needs another couple seasons to bolster his case.
Again, are you talking about will or should?

Pettitte probably shouldn't, but will (eventually).
Delgado probably shouldn't, and won't.

BTW, I'm talking about will they, not should they. If I'm unsure about someone, I ask myself, "Was he a key figure in either the Yankees or Red Sox winning a World Series?" I guess you could call me a cynic.

Re: Hall Of Fame: Yes Or No?

If we are saying Edgar shouldn't get in because he played DH most of his career, then why are closers getting in the HOF?

Take a sure fire HOF like Trevor Hoffman, he gets in although he only plays in about 63 innings a year. I think they both should be in becuase they were the best at their position, just my opinion.

Holy Crap!

I had no idea he was that close to 3000 hits. Jeez, even playing in big markets like Boston and NY you just never got the sense he was that great of a hitter in his time. I still remember him as a kid in KC.

(I feel old now LOL)
