Read a lot of review and threads. Here's my take...

BBCF: Their developer was quoted as saying they were making a new pro game. Seems like that would go with BBCF (import draft classes). I've heard this game is the most accurate for on-field play...maybe not recruiting. Almost surely will download demo sometime as this is my top choice right now.

PFS: This is pro. Always developer. Probably will be the big dog one day in this genre for American football. Heard you can import stuff from BBCF? Does this work well? Is it fun? I don't really know any details of that. Aside from that..this game seems pretty cool.

FOF: College- Best recruiting tools I've heard. Not as much fun on the field. Does this import into PFS? I'm leaning away from this one. But I haven't looked into it too much.

FOF: On their forum, their developer has said that it won't be until at least 2013 for another game due to new board game and his personal life. That being said, it looks like an okay game. Most up-to-date at 2010 (besides from PFS). Does FOF: College import into FOF?

Not sure what to do. Any other information I should know? Thanks.

Also, for anyone who doesn't know about Pigskin Empire...you should. Pretty good game. Big learning curve, but can be immensely fun. Has it's problems and is very different from these games. It's free. Start out as a OC, DC, or STC under real human HCs. College and Pro. I recommend it
If I was you, just download the demo. As far as import...no it doesn't. Just started up season #3, a different game each and every year.

Also, I tried the Pigskin Empire. It was ok for awhile, but the actual online game was just not good. Played a guy who onside kick each and every time, then when I adjusted to his "cheese", he was upset that I recovered and got a TD of his style of play. I liked the ideal, but just too many problems with other human coachs.

Really? I thought your seniors could become draft classes in PFS?

Will probably do the demo then might buy BBCF and PFS later.
Any other thoughts?

Those of you who don't play out your games, how do you handle preparing for the game? Do you use the gameplan or the playbook? I really want to get back into the game but I hate the goofiness of the in-game playcalling. We desperately need more (American) football text sims!

You can use the "normal playbook" - by default. This what the CPU is going to run if you don't do anything. There are a couple other "default books for pass and run. You can also turn over your playcalling to the OC/DC...not good if you have my staff. This is different than just the "normal playbook", as it is based on your OC/DC rating and what style you they prefer. What I do, is go an take a look at the team you are up against. Look over their stats and see what they are doing, and what might work against them. You can create a play book for what you want to do, and again....what they are weak in. Sort of works like watching a film on the other team.

I guess, I get too deep with this...but thats just how I coach. I have my playbook set up as to what I want to do on 1st down, 1st and short, 2nd and long, etc...and what plays I want to run in any situation. For instance...UNC did not have any playbooks with a goal line set to use in the redzone. This really hurt my first season...finishing with only 3 wins. I have added the plays and the % I want to run on at the goal line, as well if 4th and very short..and out of FG range, and need a score.
