Unreal improvement from 18. From the shooting to player movement to layups to defense. I’m in awe. This is the best basketball game I’ve played. So enjoyable thus far from visuals to gameplay.

Fingers crossed for the 5 on 5 nba gameplay.

How do you just play a normal game of basketball? I did all the one stuff and it says I have to play game 2 of the rise but that's locked! WTF?

Loved the intro and breaking ankles with Iverson felt great.

Loved the cut away scenes were they are showing video from people’s cell phones in the crowd super cool.

Really liked that when the one story is unfolding they showed highlights of one of my games.

The one looks like it will be fun this year.

Now on to nba play now.

Liked that they had a little better ESPN broadcast intro to start the game.

19 makes last years game look like doggy doo doo. TD garden was absolutely gorgeous. I like the player models and face scans were good. The players still have a little bit of robotics to them but it’s better than in the past.

Tip off is much improved.

The cpu wasn’t he’ll bent on getting to the rim which was by far my biggest complaint and ultimate game killer last year. In fact the CPU put up 70 on me and only had 20 points in the paint.

Movement was smooth and I had some incidents that unfolded that honestly were jaw dropping. I stole the ball with Kylie than ran the floor and double pumped a layup and got an and 1. Then got to choose 4 types of celebrations.

There were a reasonable amount of block shots and all of them were appropriate. Was a problem last year.

Half time show is exactly the same which is great. Best half time of any sports game.

What I didn’t like.

Plays are just plain bad and even worse broken. I can’t imagine a world were anyone could use them and find any success. Been that way for far too long with Live.

Another big problem I had with last years game that is unfortunately prominent again was that it was very rare that anyone on the user side got open looks. There is little to no screens or off ball movement which makes driving to the hoop the only real option. Cpu defenders don’t play help defense so you can’t even drive and kick to an open guy. They just stay with their man no matter what and are happy to let you drive.

The games I played were dunk fests. I must have had 20 dunks a game.

Free throw shooting with meter is still way too easy. If you have have any reflexes you can shoot 100%

All in all I’m pretty optimistic. I’m not much for the one type modes but I actually think I will get into it this year. I have a strong suspicion that franchise is untouched which ultimately will hurt the longevity but there’s no doubt there is fun to be had here.

You have to talk to the guy who you see at the beginning of the game talking. I had that problem too. But once you reply to his long text message, it unlocks.

The one looks and feels amazing.

5 on 5 nba action is absolute garbage. Commentary so awful. Not even a post season atmosphere. The crowd feels disconnected. Default sliders are whack af.

Huge buzzkill.

Zero effort into the nba aspect of NBA live.

Embarrassing nba product.

The one is the only reason to buy this game. Just so much to like from that experience as a basketball player.


Definitely not paying for 60 Bucks for this half assed garbage.

Probably will have to mute commentary and mess with sliders a ton.

Just need a blacktop mode in the streets.

No point of even diving into franchise mode.

1. I don't like all that extra boring stuff you have to do before you can play an actual NBA game. One shouldn't be FORCED to play a mode they will never play in the retail version.

2. The menu system is EXTREMELY CLUTTERED. Hard to navigate to even get to the NBA play now section.

3. Game play, it's alright. Nothing mind blowing to me. Tad bit too fast paced. So far I have seen the Warriors take mid range shots, so that is a good thing. Minus the new dribble moves, it feels like NBA Live 18 to me. I don't feel a difference in player movement at all. Post game is still bare bones. The alley oops are arcadey. You can pull off some alley oops from damn near anywhere from any angle it seems. ESPN camera seem to be pulled a tad bit further back then last year.

Going to play some more games. But so far, to me anyway, I am not seeing anything revolutionary. Early impression but to me it plays like NBA Live 18 with just a better dribbling system and CPU with a mid range game. Which you know, there isn't anything wrong with that. Definitely not a giant leap from last year game, just a couple of steps forward. Game is still a highlight fest like last year's game. Which you know their highlight system is top notch.
