It’s up to you!
Personally I enter a 0/1 to get a scenario first.

I then enter a 0/1 to draw a team so I know what team to draw.

(I.E if the scenario is involving a playoff team, I’ll draw until I have a playoff team)

Thanks. I just wondered cause that is what I did and then when you do the team it changes the scenario.

Yeah unfortunately that’s how the random number generator works in Excel. Anytime a cell is manipulated it rerolls the numbers.

It may be best to copy and paste the event you get so you don’t forget what it was!

Jw. I'm not very familiar at all with spreadsheets could you tell me step by step how to use your trade comparison part?

Sure!

This is how to use the trade calculator:

Find a player to be involved in the trade

Enter his name under “Player 1” or Player 2” tab

Enter his last 3 years worth of WAR in the boxes labeled (2023,2022,2021). You can change those years to whatever the last 3 years of your franchise are.

Enter the total games played in each of those 3 seasons

Enter contract years remaining

Enter remaining salary on entire contract

After you enter all of those, you’ll see the “TRADE VALUE” number reflect what that players value is.

How do you determine arbitration eligible players and prospects?

Prospects are valued using the MLB ‘20 Trade Threads evaluation that are listed within the sheet.

Arb players are kinda a guesstimate. Just try to do your best on guessing their Arb amounts.

Do we have to ask for your permission to use the excel?
