TNK - SLIDER TESTING
Exhibition Game #1

Boston Red Sox @ Kansas City Royals

Pitching Matchup – Brayan Bello vs Cole Ragans

The Red Sox wasted a lead off triple by Jarren Duran in the top of the 1st as Cole Ragans managed to escape the inning and the Royals would get a two out RBI double from Salvador Perez in the bottom of the 1st to take a 1-0 lead. The Red Sox answered in the top of the 2nd when Masataka Yoshida led off the inning with a solo HR to RF tying the game 1-1. Kansas City got back to back RBI doubles in the bottom of the 2nd from Michael Massey and Maikel Garcia to take a 3-1 lead before Bello recorded back to back Ks of Isbel and Melendez before retiring Pasquantino to end the inning. The score remained 3-1 until the top of the 4th when Masataka Yoshida hammered a ball off the RF foul pole for his 2nd HR of the night cutting the Royals lead to 3-2. Bello was settling into a nice groove on the mound and picked up two more Ks in the bottom of the 4th to send the game to the 5th inning with Kansas City leading 3-2. Ragans retired the first two batters in the top 5th before Jarren Duran doubled off the wall in CF and Trevor Story followed with a line drive into the LF corner for a big two out RBI double to tie the game 3-3. Ragans came back with a huge K of Rafael Devers to end the frame and Bello retired the side in order in the bottom of the 5th to send the game to the 6th inning tied 3-3. Ceddanne Rafaela singled up the middle to put 2 men on with 2 outs in the top of the 6th and that would be all for Ragans as Matt Sauer came in from the Kansas City bullpen to face Vaughn Grissom who grounded out to Garcia at 3rd base to end the threat keeping the score tied 3-3. Bello had retired 8 in a row and started the inning by striking out Pasquantino and Renfroe before retiring Massey on a fly ball to LF making it 11 straight batters retired by Bello and we would head to the 7th inning tied 3-3. Jarren Duran tripled with 1 out in the top of the 7th and Trevor Story would hit a ball over the head of Melendez in LF for a RBI ground rule double putting Boston up 4-3. Sauer walked Devers but would get Tyler O'Neill to fly out bringing up Yoshida who has 2 HR in the game with 2 on and 2 outs. Sauer would record a big strikeout as Yoshida chased a pitch in the dirt and Sauer escapes without further damage and we would head to the bottom of the 7th with the Red Sox leading 4-3. Bello returned to the mound to begin the bottom of the 7th having retired 11 straight and made it 12 in a row as Garcia led off with a ground out. Kyle Isbel was up next and produced a great at bat shooting a ball up the middle into CF for the first Royals hit since the 3rd inning and more importantly he made Bello throw 9 pitches which pushed him up to 100 pitches. Bello would get out of the inning and finish off a strong outing as Melendez lined out to O'Neill in LF and Witt lined to Duran in RF ending the 7th inning with Boston leading 4-3. Sauer returned to the mound for Kansas City to begin the top of the 8th and got some help from his defense as Isbel tracked a deep drive to right-center by Casas and made a nice running catch before crashing into the wall for the 1st out. Ceddanne Rafaela singled with 1 out but Sauer would retire Grissom before striking out Wong to end the top of the 8th. Chris Martin came on to pitch the bottom of the 8th for Boston and Vaughn Grissom made a great diving play on a ground ball up the middle to rob Pasquantino of a base hit for the 1st out. Salvador Perez was up next and hammered a ball that short hopped the wall in LF for a double putting the tying run in scoring position with 1 out. Martin came back with a huge K as he froze Nick Pratto with a perfectly located 96 mph fastball up and in that Pratto could do nothing but stare at it and get rung up. Hunter Renfroe came up with 2 outs and Martin would locate a fastball low and away but Renfroe was able to drop a bloop single just in front of Rafaela for a RBI single to tie the game 4-4. Mart would get Massey to fly out to Rafaela ending the 8th inning and we would head to the 9th inning with the game tied 4-4. Sauer remained in the game to start the top of the 9th and retired Duran before Story ripped a ball down the line in LF for a 1 out double and Sauer would intentionally walk Devers to try and set up a double play. Tyler O'Neill was up next and laid off a pitch in the dirt away to run the count to 2 & 2 and Sauer would hang a breaking ball that O'Neill belted deep to left-center for a 3-run HR that traveled 418 feet giving the Red Sox a 7-4 lead. Will Smith replaced Sauer on the mound and retired Yoshida and Casas to send the game to the bottom of the 9th with the Royals coming to bat trailing 7-4 and Kenley Jansen coming on to try and close it out for Boston. Jansen got Garcia to fly out to O'Neill in LF for the 1st out before Isbel dropped a single into LF putting a man on with 1 out. MJ Melendez fouled off several pitches with two strikes before grounding a ball through the hole into RF and suddenly the Royals were bringing Bobby Witt Jr to the plate representing the tying run with 1 out in the bottom of the 9th. Jansen executed some good pitches in the at bat and would get Witt to ground the ball to Grissom who flipped to Story at second base but the ball was hit too slow and they were unable to turn a game ending double play as Witt beat the throw to first base. Vinnie Pasquantino would step to the plate with runners at the corners and the Royals down to their final out. Jansen would get two strikes on Pasquantino who stayed on a fastball away and was able to punch it into LF for a RBI single making it 7-5. Salvador Perez came up with two on and 2 outs and he would fall behind in the count but once again Jansen could not put guys away with two strikes and Perez hit a ball past the dive of Casas at first base and down the RF line for a RBI double as both runners score and the Royals have come back to tie the game 7-7. Jansen would freeze Pratto with a back door cutter to end the 9th inning stranding the winning run in scoring position and we would head to extra innings tied 7-7. Will Smith was having control issues as he walked Rafaela and Grissom loading the bases for Connor Wong with nobody out in the top of the 10th. Wong would get a hanger from Smith and launched a rocket deep down the LF line but the ball would hook just foul missing a grand slam by inches and Smith would strike him out on the next pitch for a huge K. Duran was up next and he would drive in Casas who was the extra innings runner on a sac fly to CF putting the Sox back on top 8-7. Smith hit Story with a pitch to load the bases with 2 outs for Devers but he hit a chopper in front of home plate on the first pitch ending the threat and sending the game to the bottom of the 10th with Boston up 8-7 and the Royals coming up with Pratto on second base as the extra innings runner. Josh WInckowski came on to pitch the bottom of the 10th for the Red Sox and Dairon Blanco hit a sac fly to RF as Pratto advance to 3rd base with 1 out. Massey was up next and hit a fly ball to medium depth RF where Duran made the catch for the 2nd out and fired home trying to end the game on a play at the plate but Pratto slid and just beat the tag from Wong tying the game 8-8. Winckowski retired Garcia on a ground ball to Devers and we would move on to the 11th inning tied 8-8. John Schreiber came on to pitch for Kansas City and the Red Sox failed to score in the top of the 11th as the Royals would have a chance to walk off with a victory in the bottom of the 11th. Winckowski had other ideas though as he struck out Isbel and Melendez who each went down looking at nasty pitches that locked them up for 2 big outs before Witt hit a chopper up the middle that Story got to but Witt would beat it out for an infield single bringing up Austin Nola with runners on the corners and 2 outs with the winning run just 90 feet away. Winckowski would record his 3rd K looking of the frame and the Royals fail to score sending the game to the 12th inning. Duran hit a deep fly ball to LF with 2 outs in the top of the 12th but Melendez made a nice running catch on the warning track to end the threat as the Red Sox were unable to push a run across and the score remained tied 8-8. Cooper Criswell took over on the mound for Boston as the Royals came up in the bottom of the 12th with another opportunity to win the game. Salvador Perez led off with fly ball out to the warning track in LF which allowed Nola to advance to 3rd base and Kansas City had the winning run just 90 feet away with 1 out and Nick Pratto coming to the plate. Criswell threw a sinker on the first pitch that was located well but Pratto would hit it on the ground up the middle into CF as Nola jogged home with the winning run as the Royals walk off with a 9-8 victory in 12 innings

* Wow.....what a way to begin testing with a wildly fun and entertaining game that lasted 12 innings

* The GOOD NEWS is that the sliders produced an awesome baseball game. Things felt right and nothing seems out of whack or in glaring need of adjustment. Nothing else to do now but just keep playing and see if anything that needs fixing presents itself

* I also think I need a few games to really get locked in with my pitching, working counts, etc which will have a positive impact on the stats / box scores as testing continues. My play is not exactly fine tuned at the moment with this being my first game of baseball since September/ October

* Masataka Yoshida had a big night going 4 for 6 with a double, 2 HR & 2 RBI while Tyler O'Neill also went deep for Boston launching a 3-run HR in the top of the 9th

* Brayan Bello had a rocky start in the first 2 innings before settling in and retiring 12 in a row as he would pitch 7 innings allowing 3 runs on 7 hits with 9 Ks for Boston

* Cole Ragans pitched 5.2 innings allowing 3 runs on 8 hits with 9 Ks for Kansas City

Re: TNK MLB 24 SLIDERS

Starting a game now (Red Sox @ Mets) and will post results, box score, highlights, etc. after the game

If anybody else wants to assist with testing by playing some games, here is the link to make the box scores.
https://dynasties.operationsports.co...id=1&sport=mlb

*UPDATE*
I started this game last night and resumed it tonight.....I'm tied 6-6 with the Mets and going to extra innings. I will post the recap, box score, highlights when done. I don't like to get too far ahead of myself, but I can say with confidence that the sliders are just about ready to begin a franchise and I don't anticipate having to make any major changes. I've been doing sliders for this game for a very long time year after year and I can tell when it's just minor tweaks and fine tuning that will be needed

Re: TNK MLB 24 SLIDERS

TNK - SLIDER TESTING
Exhibition Game #2

Boston Red Sox @ New York Mets

Pitching Matchup –Tanner Houck vs Luis Severino

Luis Severino and Tanner Houck were both pitching well early on as both team were hit-less through the first two innings. Severino retired the side in the top of the 3rd and the Mets would get the games first hit when DJ Stewart singled with 1 out in the bottom of the 3rd. Houck struck out Harrison Bader for the 2nd out and Brandon Nimmo sliced a line drive down the LF line with 2 outs and Stewart tried to score all the way from first base but O'Neill and Story executed a perfect relay throw to home plate where Wong tagged out Stewart to end the inning and send the game to the 4th inning with the score tied 0-0. Severino struck out Story and Devers to end a 1-2-3 top of the 4th while Francisco Lindor led off the bottom of the 4th hit a ground ball down the 3rd base line but was retired on an excellent defensive play by Devers. Pete Alonso was up next and Houck left a slider out over the plate that Alonso crushed 423 feet off the upper deck facade in LF for a solo HR giving the Mets a 1-0 lead. Francisco Alvarez followed with a double and Jeff McNeil dropped a bloop single into LF putting runners on the corners with 1 out for Starling Marte who punched a ground ball through the right side of the infield for a RBI single making it 2-0. Houck came back to retire Baty and Stewart to escape with no further damage as we went to the 5th inning with New York leading 2-0. The Red Sox offense came alive in the top of the 5th as Tyler O'Neill led off the inning with a single up the middle for the first Red Sox hit of the night and Masataka Yoshida followed with a rocket into the gap in left-center for a RBI double as O'Neill scored all the way from first base to cut the deficit to 2-1. Triston Casas was up next and hit a liner down the LF line for a RBI double tying the game at 2-2. Severino would settle down and retire both Rafaela and Grissom before striking out Wong to end the frame with the score tied 2-2. Houck got Lindor to bounce into an inning ending 6-4-3 double play to end the bottom of the 5th and send the game to the 6th inning tied 2-2. The Red Sox took their first lead in the top of the 6th when Severino hit Duran with a pitch to lead off the inning and then left a cutter up in the zone to Trevor Story who launched a 2-run to LF giving Boston a 4-2 lead. Jake Diekman came in to replace Severino on the mound for New York and he would issue a walk to Devers before O'Neill lined a ball into the gap in right-center putting runners on 2nd & 3rd with nobody out. Diekman came back to strikeout Yoshida & Casas before retiring Rafaela on a ground out to Baty at third base to escape the jam and strand the two runners keeping it a 4-2 game. Alonso led off the bottom of the 6th with a double and came in to score on a RBI single to CF by Alvarez cutting the Red Sox lead to 4-3. Houck made a good two strike pitch to Jeff McNeil who stayed on a slider away and dropped a RBI single into CF tying the game 4-4. Houck settled down after a mound visit and would get Marte to ground into a 5-4-3 double play before striking out Baty to end the 6th and send the game to the 7th inning with the score tied 4-4. Jorge Lopez came on to pitch the top of the 7th for the Mets and gave up back to back singles to Grissom and Wong to start the inning before Duran beat out a double play ball to set up runners on the corners for Trevor Story with 1 out. Story swung at the first pitch he saw hitting a ground ball to Baty at third base to start an inning ending 5-4-3 double play as the Red Sox blow a big opportunity and Lopez escapes the top of the 7th with the score still tied 4-4. Brennan Bernardino took over on the mound for Boston and singles by Stewart and Nimmo would put two on with 1 out and Josh Winckowski would make his way in to replace Bernardino with Francisco Lindor coming to the plate. Winckowski did a fantastic job as he froze Lindor with a 97 mph fastball up and in for a huge K for the 2nd out before striking out Alonso on a cutter away to get out of the inning as the Mets strand a pair and we move to the 8th inning tied 4-4. Lopez allowed a lead off single to Devers before walking O'Neill on 4 pitches to put two men on for Yoshida with no outs. Yoshida worked to a 2 & 2 count before Yoshida stayed on a breaking ball and lined it into the gap in right-center for a two run double giving the Red Sox a 6-4 lead. Drew Smith replaced Lopez on the mound and struck out Casas before Rafaela lined a single to CF but Yoshida was gunned down at the plate on a strong throw by Nimmo for the 2nd out. Smith would get out of the inning when Nimmo made a nice running catch on a deep drive by Wong and we would head to the bottom of the 8th with Boston leading 6-4. Winckowski returned to the mound and retired Alvarez before back to back ground singles to McNeil and Marte putting two on with 1 out. Tyrone Taylor came on to run for Marte and Brett Baty would square up a sinker from Winckowski and drive a liner to left-center for a RBI double scoring McNeil and Taylor to tie the game up 6-6. Chris Martin came in to take over on the mound for Boston with the go ahead run in scoring position for New York. Martin froze Stewart with a 98 mph fastball and then got Bader to chase a slider away to end the inning and strand the go ahead run in scoring position sending the game to the 9th inning tied 6-6. Smith pitched a 1-2-3 top of the 9th retiring Duran, Story and Devers as the Mets had the top of the order coming up with a chance to win it in the bottom of the 9th. Martin remained in the game for Boston and retired Nimmo, Lindor and Alonso in order to send the game to extra innings tied 6-6. Shintaro Fujinami had two men on with 2 outs in the top of the 10th before falling behind in the count to Rafaela who would get a pitch to hit and ripped a ball up the middle for a RBI single to CF giving Boston a 7-6 lead. Vaughn Grissom singled to load the bases with 2 outs as Casas had to hold at third base on the play. Enmanuel Valdez would get the call to pinch hit for Conor Wong and Fujinami would come inside with a breaking ball and hit Valdez to force in a run making it 8-6. Brooks Raley replaced Fujinami to face Duran who would draw a 5 pitch walk to bring home another run making it 9-6. Raley would strikeout Story to end the frame and the Mets would come to bat in the bottom of the 10th trailing 9-6 with Kenley Jansen coming on to pitch for Boston looking to close it out. Jansen retired Alvarez before McNeil singled to put runners on the corners with 1 out for Tyrone Taylor who came on to run earlier for Marte. Taylor drove a ball high and deep to LF but O'Neill would get to it and make the catch just in front of the warning track as Alonso tagged and scored to cut the Boston lead to 9-7 and the Mets were down to their final out with Baty coming up. Baty and Jansen battled to a full count as Jansen stuck with the fastball and cutter the entire at bat before striking Baty out on a slider to end the game as the Red Sox win 9-7 in 10 innings

* The general feel of the game tells me that the sliders are close to being ready. Nothing feels clunky or out of whack, it's just a matter of fine tuning things

* I am going to condense / shrink the length of the recaps and highlights going forward. I want to spend more time playing the game and less time typing. Going forward, I will still provide the box score

If anybody else wants to assist with testing by playing some games, here is the link to make the box scores.

I don't see the boxscore creator link?
