TNK - BOSTON RED SOX FRANCHISE

Game #7 of Season

Boston Red Sox (4-2) @ Oakland A's (5-1)
Pitching Matchup – Nick Pivetta vs JP Sears

The Red Sox and A's prepare to play the 3rd and final game of this 3 game series at the Oakland Coliseum. The A's come into the game on a 5 game winning streak and have taken the first 2 games of this 3 game series while the Red Sox look to avoid the sweep. Nick Pivetta will be on the mound for Boston while JP Sears gets the start for Oakland

JP Sears and Nick Pivetta were both pitching well early and Oakland would strike first with 2 outs in the bottom of the 3rd inning when Pivetta hung a breaking ball to Zack Gelof who launched an opposite field HR to RF giving Oakland a 1-0 lead after 3 innings. The Red Sox answered in the top of the 4th when Sears hung a curveball out over the plate that Trevor Story hammered for a solo HR to CF tying the game 1-1 with his 1st HR of the season. The A's took the lead right back with 2 outs in the bottom of the 4th when Pivetta left a slider up over the plate to Shea Langeliers who belted a 414 foot solo HR to LF giving Oakland a 2-1 lead. Sears recorded two quick outs to begin the top of the 5th before Enmanuel Valdez ripped a ground ball down the first base line to the RF corner for a double and Connor Wong followed with a liner in the gap to right-center for a RBI double tying the game 2-2. Pivetta pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the 5th striking out Gelof to end his day as he was running out of gas and we would head to the 6th inning tied 2-2. The Red Sox took the lead in the top of the 6th when Rafael Devers was leading off the inning and Sears left a changeup out over the plate and Devers absolutely crushed it 461 feet to RF for a solo HR putting Boston up 3-2. Greg Weissert took over for Pivetta on the mound for Boston and retired the side in order in the bottom of the 6th sending the game to the 7th inning with Boston leading 3-2. Austin Adams came on to pitch for Oakland and Ceddanne Rafaela turned on a fastball leading off the top of the 7th and launched a solo HR to LF giving the Red Sox a 4-2 lead. Weissert returned to the mound and recorded the 1st out before Langeliers drove a ball the opposite way for a solo HR to RF for his 4th HR of the series cutting the Red Sox lead to 4-3. Lawrence Butler followed with a single and Chris Martin would make his way in to take over for Weissert with a man on and 1 out. Martin would come in and get Nick Allen to ground to Devers to start a huge 5-4-3 inning ending double play to send the game to the 8th inning with Boston leading 4-3. TJ McFarland pitched a scoreless top of the 8th for Oakland and Martin would retire Noda to begin the bottom of the 8th before Gelof smoked a ball in the gap for a double to put the tying run in scoring position with 1 out. JJ Bleday grounded out to Valdez at second base bringing up Brent Rooker with 2 outs and the tying run 90 feet away at third base. Martin would record a huge K striking out Rooker on a 98 mph fastball to end the inning and we would go to the 9th inning with the Red Sox clinging to a 4-3 lead. Kyle Muller pitched a scoreless top of the 9th getting Wong to hit into a 6-4-3 double play to end the frame and we would go to the bottom of the 9th with the A's coming up to hit trailing 4-3 and Kenley Jansen coming on to try and close it out for Boston. Jansen retired Seth Brown on a routine fly ball to Duran in LF for this 1st out. JD Davis was up next and Jansen tried to come inside with a cutter to start the at bat and Davis was able to yank it deep down the LF line and the ball had just enough to get over the wall for a game tying solo HR as Jansen blows the save and we are tied 4-4. Jansen would get the final two outs and this game was headed to extra innings with the score tied up at 4-4. Rafael Devers connected for his 2nd HR of the game in the top of the 10th giving Boston a 6-4 lead. Dany Jimenez replaced Muller and recorded the final two outs and the A's would come up in the bottom of the 10th needing two runs as they trail 6-4. Alex Cora stuck with Jansen to begin the bottom of the 10th and he recorded the 1st out by striking out Noda looking on a nasty cutter. Gelof battled to a full count before grounding out to Story and the A's were down to their final out with JJ Bleday due up. Jansen would run a cutter in on the hands of Bleday who hit a lazy fly ball to O'Neill in RF for the final out as the Red Sox grind out a 6-4 win in 10 innings avoiding the sweep

GAME NOTES
* The Red Sox avoid the sweep by taking the finale of this 3 game series by a score of 6-4 in 10 innings with Rafael Devers hitting a 2-run HR in the 10th to snap a 4-4 tie and put the Red Sox ahead before Kenley Jansen retired the side in the bottom of the 10th after blowing the save in the 9th

* The Red get back on track and improve to 5-2 on the season while the A's 5 game winning streak gets snapped and the fall to 5-2 on the season

* Shea Langeliers went 2 for 4 with 2 HR & 2 RBI in the game for Oakland and Langeliers had a monster series against the Red Sox homering in all 3 games of this series

* Rafael Devers went 2 for 5 with 2 HR & 3 RBI for Boston and Devers is off to a torrid start to the season as he now has 7 HR & 10 RBI through the first 7 games of the season

* Nick Pivetta pitched 5 innings allowing 2 runs on 5 hits with 6 Ks earning a no decision for Boston

* JP Sears pitched 6 innings allowing 3 runs on 6 hits with 6 Ks and did not factor in the decision for Oakland

* The Red Sox have an off day tomorrow before resuming the road trip with a 3 game series against the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium. Kutter Crawford will be on the mound for Boston while Griffin Canning makes the start for Los Angeles

Re: TNK MLB 24 SLIDERS

Hey TNK,

I just want to say that thank you for your work.

I've been using your slider for years and always enjoyed.
Every year, I'm little worried that you may not show up,
but here we go again!
Really hope that you keep doing this for years to come as well.

Again, just come to say thank you!

TNK - BOSTON RED SOX FRANCHISE

Game #8 of Season

Boston Red Sox (5-2) @ Los Angeles Angels (4-2)
Pitching Matchup – Kutter Crawford vs Griffin Canning

The Red Sox move on to LA for the 1st game of a 3 game series with the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium. The Red Sox come in to the series at 5-2 while the Angels are 4-2. Kutter Crawford starts the opener for Boston while Griffin Canning gets the start for Los Angeles

The Red Sox pushed across runs on a pair of sac flies by Trevor Story in the 1st inning and Jarren Duran in the 2nd inning while Kutter Crawford was sharp early on the mound for Boston recording 3 K's in the bottom of the 2nd and we would head to the 3rd inning with the Red Sox leading 2-0. The Angels bats came alive in the bottom of the 3rd as Rendon and Trout each picked up a RBI and LA would load the bases with 1 out before Crawford made a big pitch getting Drury to ground into a 5-4-3 inning ending double play to send the game to the 4th inning tied at 2-2. The Red Sox took the lead back in the top of the 4th when Enmanuel Valdez crushed a slider from Canning 444 feet for a solo HR to RF putting Boston up 3-2. The Angels answered in the bottom of the 4th when Logan O'Hoppe squared up a high fastball from Crawford and belted a 432 foot solo HR to CF tying the game 3-3. Rafael Devers continued his hot start to the season with a solo HR to CF leading off the top of the 5th to put Boston up 4-3. Triston Casas doubled with 1 out and Tyler O'Neill followed with a rocket to CF that carried just over the wall for a big 2-run HR opening up the lead to 6-3 and knocking Canning out of the game as Jose Suarez came in from the Angels pen to take over on the mound. Valdez made a nice diving stop on a ground ball by Trout in the bottom of the 5th and Crawford put up a scoreless frame to send the game to the 6th inning with the Red Sox leading 6-3. Suarez pitched a scoreless top of the 6th while Crawford got some help from Story who made a great diving stop and strong throw to retire Hicks and had 2 outs in the bottom of the 6th when he tried to put away Mickey Moniak with a fastball up and in but Moniak was able to hit a high fly ball that was hooking down the RF line and it would stay fair coming down just inside the foul pole for a 2-run HR to pull the Angels within a run at 6-5 and knock Crawford out of the ball game. Justin Slaten came on and blew a 96 mph fastball past Neto for the K to end the inning and send the game to the 7th with Boston holding a 6-5 lead. Robert Stephenson pitched a scoreless top of the 7th while Slaten returned to the mound for the bottom of the 7th and retired Rendon, Schanuel and Trout in order for a big 1-2-3 inning sending the game to the 8th inning with the Red Sox leading 6-5. Stephenson struck out the side in the top of the 8th and Chris Martin came on to pitch the bottom of the 8th for Boston. Tyler O'Neill was injured when he dove to try and catch a foul ball off the bat of Ward leading off the bottom of the 8th and Wilyer Abreu would replace him in RF. Ward would foul off 8 straight pitches to stay alive before Martin left a sinker over the plate and Ward yanked it down the LF line for a solo HR tying the game up 6-6. Aaron Hicks singled with 1 out and Jo Adell came on to pinch run but he would be thrown out trying to steal second base on a strong throw from McGuire for the 2nd out. Martin would strikeout O'Hoppe to end the 8th and we were headed to the 9th inning with the score tied 6-6 and Matt Moore making his way in to pitch for Los Angeles. Casas drew a 1 out walk but Moore came back to K Abreu and get Yoshida to pop out ending the frame and the Angels would come to bat in the bottom of the 9th with a chance to walk off with a victory. Joely Rodriguez came on for Boston and pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the 9th to send the game to extra innings with the score even at 6-6. Rafaela led off the top of the 10th with a fly ball to deep CF allowing Yoshida to tag and advance to third base with 1 out. Moore recorded a huge K of Valdez before walking McGuire to put runners on the corners with 2 outs. Jose Cisnero replaced Moore on the mound with Duran coming up and Devers on deck. Duran was sitting on a first pitch fastball and got one low in the zone that he was able to drive deep to RF sending Moniak racing back and the ball hit off the scoreboard just above the yellow line for a huge 3-run HR giving the Red Sox a 9-6 lead. Kenley Jansen came on to pitch the bottom of the 10th and started with a K of Schanuel for the 1st out. Mike Trout dropped a flare in down the RF line and he would race into second base with a RBI double making it 9-7 and bringing the tying run to the plate for LA with 1 out. Jansen came back with a huge K of Ward on a filthy slider bringing up Brandon Drury with the Angels down to their final out. Jansen would record the save as he struck out Drury swinging on a nasty cutter to end the game and give the Red Sox a 9-7 win in 10 innings

GAME NOTES
* The Red Sox find a way to win another tight one as they were tied 6-6 with the Angels after 9 innings and Jarren Duran was the hero as he hit a 3-run HR with 2 outs in the top of the 10th and Kenley Jansen would close it out to record his 3rd save

* The Red Sox improve to 6-2 on the season while the Angels drop to 4-3 on the season

* Kutter Crawford pitched 5.2 innings allowing 5 runs on 10 hits with 3 Ks and earned a no decision for Boston

* Griffin Canning lasted 4.1 innings allowing 6 runs on 9 hits with 3 Ks and earned a no decision for LA

* Tyler O'Neill left the game due to injury when he hurt his wrist on a diving attempt at a foul ball. The Red Sox dodged a bullet though as O'Neill did not suffer any breaks or ligament damage and is expected to only miss a day or two with arm and wrist stifness

* The Red Sox and Angels will play the 2nd game of this 3 game series tomorrow. Garrett Whitlock will be on the mound for Boston while Reid Detmers gets the start for Los Angeles

Re: TNK MLB 24 SLIDERS

TNK - BOSTON RED SOX FRANCHISE

Game #10 of Season

Boston Red Sox (7-2) @ Los Angeles Angels (4-4)
Pitching Matchup – Tanner Houck vs Chase Silseth

The Red Sox will play the final game of this season opening 10 game west coast road trip with Boston looking to complete the 3 game sweep of the Angels. The Red Sox will send Tanner Houck to the mound while Chase Silseth starts for Los Angeles

The Red Sox and Angels traded solo HR in the 2nd inning as Bobby Dalbec cleaned out a splitter low and in from Silseth and hit a rocket over the wall in LF for a solo HR putting Boston up 1-0 while Houck left a sinker over the plate to Brandon Drury who hit a solo HR to CF tying the game and we would head to 3rd inning tied 1-1. The score remained tied 1-1 into the bottom of the 4th inning where the Angels were threatening after singles by Schanuel and Ward set up runners at the corners with 1 out for Drury who homered in his previous at bat. Drury hit a ground ball up the middle that was knocked down on a diving play by Enmanuel Valdez and Trevor Story was able to collect the ball and fire a throw to first base to get Drury but Schanuel would score on the play giving Los Angeles a 2-1 lead. Houck would get out of the inning by getting Aaron Hicks to ground out and the game would move to the 5th inning with the Angels leading 2-1. Silseth pitched a scoreless top of the 5th and retired the side in order in the bottom of the 5th sending the game to the 6th inning with Los Angeles up 2-1. The Angels would add to their lead in the bottom of the 6th as Rendon and Schanuel started the inning with back to back singles and Mike Trout followed with a ground ball through the hole into LF for a RBI single to make it 3-1. Houck had two strikes on Ward but could not put him away as he lined a ball the opposite way into the RF corner for a RBI double plating two runs to blow the game open 5-1 and that would be all for Houck as he fails to record an out in the 6th and Josh Winckowski would come in from the pen with the Red Sox now trailing 5-1. Brandon Drury followed with a RBI double to make it 6-1. Winckowski was forced to leave with elbow discomfort and was replaced by Chase Anderson and Mickey Moniak lined a two out RBI single to CF making it 7-1. Anderson would get Neto to ground out to finally end the inning after the Angels bat around and score 5 runs to blow the game open and send the game to the 7th inning with LA now leading 7-1. Jose Suarez and Chase Anderson pitched scoreless frames in the 7th sending the game to the 8th. Suarez pitched a scoreless top of the 8th while the Angels put two men on with 2 outs in the bottom of the 8th against Anderson but Moniak would fly out to Yoshida in LF for the final out and we would go to the 9th inning with the Angels leading the Red Sox 7-1 and Boston coming up to hit trailing by 6 runs. Suarez returned to the mound for the top of the 9th and Casas led off with a single but Suarez came back to retire Yoshida and Dalbec followed with a drive towards right-center but Trout would make a nice catch on the run and the Red Sox were down to their final out. Wilyer Abreu flew out to Trout in CF for the final out as the Angels avoid the sweep with a 7-1

GAME NOTES
* The Red Sox were trailing the Angels 2-1 in what was a close ball game until Los Angeles exploded for 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th and the Sox drop the finale of this series 7-1

* The Red Sox 3 game win streak gets snapped and they fall to 7-3 on the season while the Angels improve to 5-4 on the season

* The Angels were led by Brandon Drury who went 3 for 4 with a double, HR & 3 RBI and Drury is now hitting .205 with 1 HR & 5 RBI on the season

* Bobby Dalbec continues to produce when in the lineup early in the season as he went 1 for 4 with a solo HR and Dalbec is hitting .211 with 3 HR & 5 RBI on the season

* Tanner Houck pitched 5+ innings allowing 6 runs on 7 hits with 4 Ks as he takes the loss and falls to 0-2 with 6.00 ERA after his first two starts of the season

* Chase Silseth was very good for LA as he pitched 6 innings allowing 1 run on 4 hits with 9 Ks and earns the win to improve to 2-0 with 0.64 ERA through his first two starts of the season

* Josh Winckowski was forced to leave the game with elbow discomfort but lucked out and will not require a stint on the injured list and should be good in a day or two

* The Red Sox finish a successful 10 game road trip on the west coast to open the season with a record of 7-3 and will return home to Boston for their home opener and the Sox will play their next 10 games at Fenway Park beginning with a 3 game series against the Baltimore Orioles. Brayan Bello starts the home opener for Boston while Dean Kremer gets the start for Baltimore

Re: TNK MLB 24 SLIDERS

TNK - BOSTON RED SOX FRANCHISE

Game #11 of Season

Baltimore Orioles (6-3) @ Boston Red Sox (7-3)
Pitching Matchup – Dean Kremer vs Brayan Bello

The Red Sox are set to play their home opener after starting the season with 10 games on the west coast and going 7-3 on the trip. The Red Sox will now begin a 10 game home stand with a 3 game series against the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway Park. The Orioles are projected by many to win the AL East this season and they are off to a 6-3 start on the season. Boston will have Brayan Bello on the mound to open the series and he will be opposed by Dean Kremer who gets the start for the Orioles

The Orioles opened the scoring in the top of the 2nd inning with a pair of RBI doubles from Ryan O'Hearn and Cedric Mullins to give Baltimore a 2-0 lead. Boston responded in the bottom of the 2nd as Triston Casas led off the frame with deep drive into the Red Sox bullpen for a solo HR cutting the Baltimore lead to 2-1. Bello settled in and made it 8 in a row pitched 1-2-3 frames in the top of the 3rd & 4th innings with Trevor Story making a fantastic diving play to retire Austin Hays ending the top of the 4th. Triston Casas led off the bottom of the 4th with a single to CF and came in to score when Masataka Yoshida short hopped the RF wall for a RBI double tying the game 2-2 with 1 out. Kremer retired Rafaela and Valdez to strand Yoshida in scoring position and send the game to the 5th inning tied 2-2. The Orioles took the lead right back as Bello hung a slider to Cedric Mullins who hit a 436 foot solo HR to RF giving Baltimore a 3-2 lead. Bello came right back to retire the next 3 and struck Gunnar Henderson to end the frame. The Red Sox answered in the bottom of the 5th as Jarren Duran ripped a line drive down the RF line that hopped into the crowd for a ground rule double and Rafael Devers followed with a rocket off the green monster in LF but the ball was hit too hard for Devers to take extra bases and he had to settle for a RBI single tying the game 3-3. Story followed with a single and Casas hit a towering fly ball down the RF line that looked like it was going to be a 3-run HR by the Pesky pole but Santander made the catch at the wall for the 2nd out of the inning. Kremer struck out Tyler O'Neill to end the inning and we would head to the 6th inning tied 3-3. Bello pitched around a 1 out double by Anthony Santander to get through a scoreless top of the 6th while Kremer retired the side in order in the bottom of the 6th sending the game to the 7th tied 3-3. Bello was at 78 pitches as he returned for the top of the 7th and retired Hays before Mullins doubled to put a man in scoring position with 1 out. Jordan Westburg was up next and hit a ground ball through the right side for a RBI single as Mullins scored to put the Orioles up 4-3. Bello retired Urias on a fly ball to RF and would exit as Joely Rodriguez came in for the lefty matchup with Gunnar Henderson coming up. Rodriguez would get Henderson to fly out to Duran in LF ending the frame with Baltimore leading 4-3. Keegan Akin took over for Kremer and pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the 7th sending the game to the 8th inning with the Orioles leading 4-3. Rodriguez retired Rutschman and Santander to begin the top of the 8th and Josh Winckowski came on to face Mountcastle who punched a single through the right side into RF to put a man on with 2 outs. Winckowski faced just one batter as he suffered an injury of some sort and exited the game forcing Alex Cora to bring in Chris Martin with a man on and 2 outs. Martin would freeze O'Hearn with a nasty back door cutter for the 3rd out keeping it a 4-3 game. Yennier Cano was on to pitch the bottom of the 8th for Baltimore and struck out Story to begin the inning. Casas grounded out to Westburg for the 2nd out and Westburg went out into shallow CF to make the catch on a flair by O'Neill ending the 8th inning with the Orioles leading 4-3. Martin allowed a lead off single to Hays to start the top of the 9th and Casas would make a nice play to retire Mullins at first base as Hays moved into scoring position with 1 out. Jordan Westburg was up next and Martin made a nice pitch on a splitter down but Westburg went down to get it and launched a fly ball that carried enough to clear the green monster for a huge 2-run HR giving the Orioles some breathing room as they extend the lead to 6-3. Martin would retire Urias and Henderson to end the frame and Orioles closer Craig Kimbrel would make his way in with the Red Sox coming up to bat in the bottom of the 9th needing 3 runs as they trail 6-3. Yoshida drew a lead off walk but Kimbrel would get Ceddanne Rafaela to bounce into a 6-4-3 double play and the Red Sox were down to their final out. Enmanuel Valdez grounded out to O'Hearn at first base for the final out as Kimbrel gets the save and the Orioles win 6-3 to spoil the Red Sox home opener.
