yep, the reason you get into golf games is the quality of gameplay, with the challenge to do better every time you play. You need total control of the swing, EA just giving visuals isn't going to keep players interest for long.

I think that is highly dependent on what type of gamer you are. Casual gamers and golfers like myself maybe don't have an issue with the swing...especially if using 3 click method.

I find the game fun, entertaining, beautiful to look at, challenging for me with correct settings, and am happy they are still adding content.

It's not for everyone perhaps, but I think it does a great job for the majority of gamers.

Just keep in mind we are in the PC version thread here specifically.

I'd argue PC Golf Gamers have a different expectation set than console ones.

One thing is for sure -- no crossplay is killing this game on PC

They don't even have crossplay, and somebody on the EA forum is already complaining it would be unfair because of the haptic vibration for the swing mechanic on PS5.

I'm so beyond caring if it's "fair" or "unfair"

Every single platform has people posting ridiculous scores.
I have no idea how they do it, but no concerns should be there about "competitive balance".

At this point we just need everyone able to play each other, cross platform, so that the ecosystem is as vibrant as possible.

We've been held back in gaming -- forever -- by worrying too much about cheaters and the like.

Possibly programmable controller that would take away the "x" axis, always leaving a straight vertical swing?

"Fair" or "Unfair" only matters if you want to play with randoms. For those of us who only want to play with a 'curated' set of opponents, it doesn't matter at all.

That's what drives me nuts about it
I don't care at all about playing random folks

They can score -24 every round if they want -- whatever gets their rocks off

I'm only ever going to play with people I at least tangentially know, so I have zero concerns about "mouse edgers" or "axis disablers"

Cheaters really need to get a life (truly)
