The Story of Coach B (NCAA 14, Madden 25) Dynasty

Tried doing a dynasty thread here before, but lost interest. Trying again. I'm not very good at keeping the same dynasty going, so we'll see about this.

Dynasty setup:
Madden 25 dynasty: owner of the Baltimore Ravens
NCAA Football 14 dynasty: Setup dynasty with 12 teambuilder schools (a mix of real school and fictional ones) and conferences are set up by geography and no automatic BCS bids.

Madden 25 dynasty so far:
  • Relocated Ravens to Salt Lake City and renamed them the Flyers. Let computer handle all other things. Simulated preseason.
  • Traded Joe Flacco to New England for A. Dennard and a 2015 5th round. Tyrod Taylor is the starter for now.

NCAA 14 dynasty so far: Took over Offensive Coordinator position for Tulane. I won't be staying with a school for entire dynasty. When I'm in a coordinator position, I do not do any recruiting, that's simulated

Thoughts on how this will work:
  • Not going to commit to how often updates, etc since I want to play and don't want to burn myself out.
  • For both Madden and NCAA I'm only playing offense. SuperSim on Defense, punting, and kickoffs (both kicking and receiving)
  • Madden I'm having the computer auto-progress players
  • NCAA I'll keep track of certain rivalry games and how they hold up through the years
  • Not sure how much, but I'll do some graphics to spice things up.
  • NCAA I may do some sort of manual updating of players ratings each year to simulate a player getting better or worse. Maybe even simulate player transfers.

I haven't really played Madden much since probably 2000 or earlier so I'll probably end up ruining the franchise, since I have no clue about how player salaries work (salary and bonus?), how the cap works, etc.

Not using "house rules" for now, since I'm not very good as it is.

Tulane bounced back after their first loss of the season, winning comfortably in West Point against Army. After a very poor showing last week, the defense was much better this week, frustrating the Black Knights all day.

The offense was good this week, not quite as good as last week, but turnovers continue to be a concern. Especially interceptions, as the 9 touchdown throws have been offset with 9 interceptions thrown.

Not sure if I should go back and forth, play a game in Madden then one in NCAA. So the years mirror each other. Or if I should play an entire season in one and then an entire season in the other.

For now, just playing an entire NCAA season.

Tulane Green Wave

The Green Wave offense started very slow and never really got going. McMillan completed just 4 of his first 13 passes, with many of those incompletions being bad throws. Bradwell also started slow, just 7 yards on his first 6 carries. On third down, they were only 1 of their first 7. They were down two touchdowns at the half.

Second half started better, but that quickly changed as McMillan threw a pick six, Harris returned his throw 72 yards for a Roadrunner score.

For the first time this season McMillan was benched for junior Keon Howard. Howard did well; he tossed a touchdown to pull within seven points but UTSA then kicked a field goal and he then threw a pick, ending Tulane's hopes. Tulane moves to 4-2, headed into the bye week.

I ended up switching back to All-American, because I was throwing like 6 INTs per game on Heisman. I'm definitely not one of the best players of this game. Going to keep fiddling with the sliders.

Tulane finishes a decent 7-5. Longest win streak was 2 games, as was the longest losing streak. Their record is deceiving, they probably had the easiest schedule in the nation. Three of those wins came against lowly FCS teams and they were blown out by LSU and Florida Atlantic. Probably why no Bowl Bid was given to them.

They finish middle of the pack in the small 5 team Conference USA, made up of all Louisiana teams. Wins at home against Louisiana Tech and at Louiana-Monroe. Blown out by LSU at home and blow out at Louisiana-Lafayette.

Re: The Story of Coach B (NCAA 14, Madden 25) Dynasty

Thinking about this some more, I think I need to finish a NCAA season before I do a Madden season for the draft class import to be right.

So the Madden 2014 Season are players still in college. But the NCAA you export at the end of the season. So the NCAA 2014 Season players leaving is the end of the season, but imported in the same season in Madden.

So I think I need to do another NCAA season, 2014, before I do the 2014 Madden season.

I think that's right.
