Am I the only one who thinks it's dumb that Perry had to fight after the Tavares injury?

I can see going after a guy for a dirty hit but I always thought it was dumb when someone had to fight after a clean hit that injured someone. This particular case is even worse as it just seemed to me like bad timing while Perry was actively trying to AVOID Tavares who was falling down from a Chiarot hit that seemed fine to me.

Am I wrong?

Canadiens was the worst team Leafs could face in my opinion. The most defensive team of the north and in the playoffs defense always become more important.

Sad to hear about the Tavares incident. I hope he'll have a speedy recovery.

No Faulk, no Bortuzzo, Vince Dunn could play but is a game-time decision, Perron still on Covid list.

...Yeah, they're pretty screwed.

You're right. The fight was totally dumb.

Kadri gets 8 games, that seems harsh but he put himself in that position.

NHL's DoPS is still a joke though

This suspension makes no sense.
The hit was absolutely suspension worthy.
But considering some of the terrible hits we've seen all season and even in this first round, I'm shocked he got 8 games - which, as we know is actually a 16-game regular season penalty considering the DoPS considers playoff games worth 2x regular season games.
Taking that into consideration, the Wilson on Carlo hit was 7 games, which translates to a 10-game suspension in an 82-game season.
This Kadri hit was 6-games worse than Wilson's?

Also considering Kadri hadn't been suspended for a year while Wilson had, you'd have to assume that Wilson *should* have gotten more then.
But hey, it's the DoPS and I absolutely believe there is a different standard for white Canadian hockey players.
The fact Bushnevich got a game for defending himself against Mantha while Wilson got nothing for *defending* himself against Paniran says all you need to know.
