Re: NHL 2020 Offseason

At first I thought that St. Louis was kicking in the 3rd; using it as a cap dump to help resign Pietrangelo. I guess not; Habs really want a quality backup.

Andersen is also coming off his worst year as a pro. Allen was better than him last year; as such the Leafs would be lucky to get a 2nd. That said Dubas seems to have pictures on many of the GM's in the league.

Maybe Habs are planning on leaving Price unprotected next year?

He's from BC, maybe he'd like going to Seattle?

Pretty sure Price has a NMC.

If Allen supplants Price as the #1 next season and wins a Stanley Cup in Montreal, then yes, Price will be in a similar situation to Fleury was in the Vegas draft. (Except for Fleury having 2 years, 11.5M left on his contract when he waived his NMC, whereas Price will have 5 years, 52.5M left after next season.)

Allen will become a UFA in the same offseason as the expansion draft so the Habs acquiring him now won't ensure they can keep him and leave Price unprotected.

Re: NHL 2020 Offseason

I know at some point in off season everyone will be rumored to go to the Leafs, but Wayne Simmonds is one name which could happen.

He's not the guy we saw in Philly, but could be a good 3rd line option.

Re: NHL 2020 Offseason

Pierre McGuire will not be the Coyotes GM.

I never knew that headline was necessary until I saw that they were actually considering him.

Of all the names around hockey, that's the one they considered before so many others?
