I'm so sceptical of everything nowadays, I wouldn't be shocked if Cal Ripken or Derek Jeter admitted to PED's, or even if Babe Ruth had used corked bats. Cheating in baseball didn't begin with Jose Canseco, baseball has a long and storied history with cheating from the moment the second team was formed. And that isn't exclusive to baseball. Cheating since day one has been in football, basketball, automobile racing, bowling, chess and anything that has two entities competing with each other. Cheating is human nature, even if not everyone acts on the impulse.

I mean…it’s a know thing that Ruth used PEDs. He missed most of 1925 after he developed an abscess when he was injected with sheep’s testosterone.

I got no problem with corked bats or pitchers putting stuff on their fingers. I think those are the fun forms of cheating. PEDs is just an entirely different level.

John Sterling, Pa Pinstripe himself, is officially (and immediately) retiring from calling Yankees games on radio broadcast, due to health concerns.

A woman who accused Trevor Bauer of sex assault is now charged with defrauding ex-MLB player
Quote:
PHOENIX (AP) — An Arizona woman who accused former major league pitcher Trevor Bauer of sexual assault has been charged with defrauding the baseball player.

An indictment unsealed Monday in Maricopa County Superior Court charges the woman with fraud and theft by extortion, both felonies, but doesn’t provide specific details about the alleged crimes. It says Bauer and one other person were defrauded in a scheme that potentially spanned several years.

I don't know why but I thought I remembered him dying ten years ago. One of the first baseball books I read was his biography/autobiography(?), White Rat. I wasn't even a Cardinals fan but he was such a great manager, taking St. Louis to 3 WS, I had to read it. I don't remember much from the book because it was so long ago, but I seem to recall he was fond of using two cursewords in particular. Shtfck, and fcksht.

Had no idea he called Braves games.

I won't miss radio outlets insisting on playing his gibberish. Like your drunk uncle calling games.

Why do the Yankees always complain Jays are cheating when the Jays beat them...
