Re: MLB Off-Topic

I think one of the big factors that gets ignored is spin rate. Velocity clearly causes issues, but once teams started measuring spin rate pitchers began gripping the ball harder to generate that spin. Generating the spin rate and the velocity is likely a terrible combination for pitcher’s arms.

I still remember his debut. The entire city was excited. We had years and years of 100 loss seasons but he was hope. Shame that injuries ruined his career.

His debut is one of the few that lived up to the hype. I know it was against a poor Pirates lineup, but it was such a hyped event and he struck out 14 while looking nearly unhittable. I remember thinking he was got going to win multiple CY awards…at least he has 2019.

Re: MLB Off-Topic

We all have seen random tshirt guys selling outside of venues before or after a game, but imagine if that guy was your (player on the team's) dad.

David Schneiders dad will be selling these outside the gate after the game.

I faced him once when we were both 18 years old, and for the life of me I couldn't believe that was already 17 years ago when it just feels like six years ago. It was weird when I heard he had retired because I thought he was like 28, but then I realized we were the same age and said "Oh, gotcha."

Overhand throwing is just bad for your body. There's no fix for it. Guys are going to continue trying to get better and better at it, but until we evolve to have thicker ligaments, this is going to be the outcome of the chase to throw 90, then 95, then 100, then 105

Flew out to RF. He never gave me a slider, thank goodness. He wasn't throwing many sliders to lefty hitters at the time though.
