I saw the same.

I also saw Acuna with terrible post-pitch secondary leads on 2nd.

I feared they'd be just waiting for 3-run homers.

Do we just purposefully lose 10 games extra a year moving forward to avoid the bye?

It didn’t matter, but I’m still baffled by the CI call. Murphy said after the game he never felt any contact, but he also heard the double tap that is usually what umpires go by. He still doesn’t know when or how the bat would have made contact with the glove and never felt it.

I’m curious what would be needed to overturn a call like that, because not a single replay showed the bat anywhere near the glove. Usually CI is pretty obvious.

There was a super slo-mo replay that seemed to show one of the laces moving on Murphy's glove, FWIW.

Technically maybe the correct call, but it couldn't have possibly affected the swing, so it seems kind of dumb.

But all moot since the Braves never scored.
