Drew McIntyre walks out onto the stage as the match comes to a close and tells Sheamus as he is celebrating his victory that he should wish that he did not just win that match because he is going to suffer a beatdown at Backlash.

Legado Del Fantasma vs. The Usos and Roman Reigns

The Usos and Roman Reigns def. Legado Del Fantasma. It was a tough match and Legado Del Fantasma hung in there for quite a while but Reigns ended up being too much for them as a Superman Punch finished of Raul Mendoza for the win.

Imperium def. Alpha Academy. Imperium looks ready to challenge RK-Bro for the RAW Tag Team Championship.

Robert Roode once again stop Braun Strowman in the hallway. After chatting quietly for a minute, Braun Strowman nods and walks away.

Damian Priest def. Apollo Crews. This means that Priest will get the chance to face Seth Rollins in a rematch for the WWE United States Championship.

Titus O’neil comes out to the center of the ring. He calls outs Karrion Kross for his unnecessary and unwarranted attacks against his fellow superstars and challenges Kross to not be a coward and face him in the ring at Backlash. Kross walks out onto the stage and seemingly accepts, though says nothing.

During the match, Braun Strowman runs out and attacks Jordan Devlin while Robert Roode distracts the referee.

After the victory, Braun Strowman comes into the ring with Robert Roode and the two shake hands. It looks like Roode now has another ally and new bodyguard in Braun Strowman.

Lita comes down to the ring. She wants the bad blood between Rhea Ripley and Nikki A.S.H. to be settled tonight so she will be pairing them against each other in tag team action tonight with partners of their choosing. She also says that Becky Lynch will be accepting an impromptu challenge tonight for the WWE Women’s Championship. Bayley emerges and says she will be the one to win that belt tonight.

Asuka comes down and says she has proven herself against 3 competitors and asks who is willing to take her on tonight. Mandy Rose walks out onto the stage and tells her that the championship will be hers by the end of the night.

Kacy showed her spunk and heart but, in the end, could not win. Tamina def. Kacy Catanzaro.

Angered by the closeness of the match, Tamina attacks Kacy Catanzaro after the match. Ember Moon runs down to the ring to save Catanzaro and Tamina hops out of the ring to avoid confrontation. Ember Moon helps Kacy up as she eyes Tamina walking up the ramp.

Match 3 (WWE Women’s Martial Arts Championship)

Asuka(champion) vs. Mandy Rose

Spoiler

Asuka def. Mandy Rose via submission to remain the WWE Women’s Martial Arts Champion.

After the match, Sonya Deville walks out and down to the ring and tells Asuka she has had enough of her showboating and that she needs to prove herself against an actual opponent and not a bunch of pushovers. She does this while standing outside of the ring.

Sarray, who faced Asuka last week, comes out and walks down to the stage. She clearly has taken offense to what Sonya Deville just said. The music of Lita hits and she walks down to the ring and stands between the 3 wrestlers staring each other down. She says this will be settled at Womenz Warz in a triple threat match for the WWE Women’s Martial Arts Championship.

Lacey Evans vs. Indi Hartwell vs. Naomi vs. Dana Brooke

Indi Hartwell goes for the pin of Naomi but she is blindsided by Lacey Evans. Lacy Evans wins the fatal 4 way via pinfall of Naomi.

Titus Oneil def. Karrion Kross. The seasoned veteran shows Kross that he cannot sneak attack other stars in the ring. After the match and after Titus makes his way up the ramp and into the backroom, Kross is angry. He clearly wants revenge on O’neil.

King Nakamura makes his way down to the ring to watch the next match. He clearly seems interested in the matchup. When asked by the commentators why he isn’t defending his belt tonight, Nakamura responds that there has not been a worthy competitor. He decides to stay ringside for a few matches.

This match is slated to be between The Usos and The New Day. After both teams come down to the ring, Shawn Michaels and Mick Foley emerge from the back. Michaels says that he is tired of seeing this boring match up. Foley suggests spicing things up by adding a third tag team to this match to make it a triple threat tag team match for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship. Both Foley and Michaels step to the side and out comes a RAW tag team in the form of The Street Profits. The crowd roars as they make their way down to the ring to a shocked Usos and The New Day.

June Year 1, Week 4



Welcome to the recap of Backlash, our second PPV in this dynasty. Here we recap but also pose questions for what is next for these superstars. Let’s get to it.



The bad blood between Austin Theory and Johnny Gargano has finally been settled. At this point, it is safe to say that The Way is no more. What is next for both of these stars? Will Gargano want a rematch or will he move forward? Theory seems content with how everything ended and all indications point to him moving forward.



Titus O’neil put Karrion Kross in his place. But Kross was furious after the match. Will O’neil become the isolated target of Kross?



Xander Z continues to be on a hot streak. He has yet to lose a match in his WWE career. What is next for the young upstart?



With the Street Profits being part of the SmackDown Tag Team Championship match, what does this mean for the future of the tag divisions on both RAW and SmackDown? Both titles were successfully defended but the cross-show match could mean big things for the tag titles down the line.



Sheamus defeated Drew McIntyre to become the new WWE North American Champion. What is next for Drew?



Sami Zayn lost for the third time in a row against Ilja Dragunov. What can Sami do to get his confidence back? What is next for the streaky Ilja Dragunov? He holds the MITB briefcase for the WWE Universal Championship. Does he try to cash in soon and take Reigns down?



As you can see, there any many more questions to be answered and the implications from Backlash are strong and will likely have lasting impacts on the WWE.



Now, on a personal note:



As I get further into this, I am slowly going to increase the storytelling. I still am of the mindset that sometimes matches are just matches. But I feel an extra storyline or two per show will kick in up a bit. So, I am mixing up my storyline matrix I have to make it more engaging. Some of the stories are moving kind of fast at this point, but the stories are going to start to be extended a bit, when appropriate. As a reminder, I am not using the rivalry system within the game. I may add a few into the game to see how those cut scenes.




I have also been doing about half of my matches CPU-CPU at this point to return some spontaneity to my results and I have been enjoying those results thus far. I have many more storylines planned out and the CPU-CPU match results are really driving some of my ideas and I am getting even more ideas from the matches themselves.
