Christmas 2023. It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year!

December 1st. 24 days until the big day.

Last night the family went to our kids school's Christmas Festival. They were excited to see their friends. I had random people approach me because they knew who I was??? I have the worst time remembering names, for the life of me I have no idea how someone who has never met me, will know who I am because they know one of my sisters or close friends. I feel I look like every other Dad with a shaved head, except for my shoes. My shoe game is stupid.

Well, we are finally into the Christmas Season...well for most people. We have a pretty festive weekend ahead of us. We are going to some Christmas farm tomorrow and then we will go and watch the Peterborough Santa Claus Parade. Then on Sunday we are going to my country club for our Christmas brunch. They kids will get to meet Santa and get a gift from him. We are going with our neighbours, it should be an awesome time.

Decided to check out "new" Christmas movies (aka movies I haven't seen).

First one is A Christmas Carol,the 2009 movie with Jim Carrey as the voice of Scrooge.

Obviously this story has been done to death over the decades (funny how even the Simpsons joked about it and that joke was from over 20 years ago), but I liked this telling of it in terms of a movie based on the original story and not just some show or movie mixing a version of this story in with their own characters.

Christmas was once my favorite holiday by far and I went all out in so many ways. I pray that life will come back around and deliver those feelings again some day. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas season with your families. I think it's best to cherish every memory and show gratefulness to every family member, even those that may seem ungrateful because we never know what someone may be going through.

The Christmas season is flying by. 20 days until Christmas. Crazy fast.

We had a great festive weekend at the towns Santa Claus parade and our country clubs festive brunch. We had a lot of fun and the kids got some time with Santa.

I hope you are all getting through this season, as best you can. I know it can be a difficult time.

I feel like no matter how many times I might see the same movies there's always things I didn't see/notice before.

Like on Elf, never realized the store manager had a nametag for someone else (apparently they planned to give the role to someone else but they declined so the actor who took over just decided to wear it anyways).

And Buddy's kid at the end of the movie he named after his mom.

I did not know that. I really like that they named the baby after his Mom. Nice way to tie up the story.
