Re: Out of Bounds Plays

It is kind of easy to get the ball stolen against a user and I can steal it against the CPU there alot. Against users, to shorten the passing lane, I just bring my pg right in front of the passer. Often though, the CPU puts my point guard on the opposite side of the floor and I can't move him until the ball is given to the inbounder. Then when I get him over there, I've wasted a couple of seconds and against a user who knows how to bump your guy it can be an issue because you can't get a clean pass.

Also, often I can draw two or three fouls just by parking my guy next to the two guys near the ball because the CPU always reaches there. I've drawn as many as three fouls there before.

Being able to assign out of bounds plays to players like regular ones would be cool and then picking the play by picking the guy and the play would be nice (similar to on the floor but in the time out). I don't really get the interface now not that I've spent a ton of time on it.

It's also pretty easy to get an open three from out of bounds because of where the defense is set up. Check out Chris Smoove's game one of his eastern conference finals this year.

Here's a similar situation at the 11 minute mark of this video with 8 seconds to go in regulation but Smoove's video shows it better. It's below at the 14:40 minute of the video. I'm not sure if he is calling a play that bunches up everyone over there on the sideline or not. In some ways, it's great you can do that and in others not so much.

Re: Out of Bounds Plays

It is also incredibly easy to score when the ball is being taken out on the baseline.

Why is that? Is the D out of position?

The defense doesn't make any effort to intercept the ball if you have a guy standing right under the basket. Then you can just lay it in for an easy two.

Re: Out of Bounds Plays

I feel there should be a basic Inbounds playbook, with plays like stack, when the team goes into a line, and splits apart to try to get the ball. (I don't know if I've seen that in the NBA though.)

There are some deadly baseline play. For example on Xbox the one that is on the first page and that is picked by pressing X is almost a guaranted layup. What happens is that the defense doesn't fight the screen set by the offensive team.

Against users I usually grab Hibbert and zone him up under the basket and often I still can't stop the pass under for a layup.

Against the CPU I can't score as well off of it because when they bump you you get stuck to them. You don't stick to a user controlled guy defender.

Last year I could alley oop from out of bounds on the baseline but haven't tried this year.

Speaking of alley oops Da_Czar, I can't press both of those buttons and alley oop lol. Maybe it's just me but alot of times when I do the alley oop I just end up hitting X. Wish it was simpler.

I was going to say that. LOL But you just want a play where they all break open to secure the inbound not necessarily to score ?
