Just scored 15 runs in the opener against the Sox. That lineup really could be fun, I will give that a go for a few teams. Park looks great as well, the colors are really popping.

For the championship list: As a casual I am most suprised by the Tigers, I really saved them in my mind as one of the more succesful teams. But they even barely made the playoffs?

Its crazy to think, since 2000, 22 full seasons played, half the major league teams have won a WS. 15 in 22 years, not counting the 2020 60 game season. If that doesn't give hope any team can win it all, nothing will. Significant WS winners since 2000:
2001 Arizona first championship.
2002 Angels first championship.
2004 Red Sox first championship since 1918.
2005 White Sox first championship since 1917.
2006 Cardinals first championship since 1982.
2008 Phillies first championship since 1980.
2010 Giants first championship since 1954.
2015 Royals first championship since 1985.
2016 Cubs first championship since 1906.
*2017 Astr*s first championship.*
2019 Nationals first championship. Washingtons first championship since 1924.
2023 Rangers first championship.

We're getting to the point the Yankees are getting into that 1979-1995 championship drought territory. Its been over 20 years since the Marlins have won a championship. And the Braves just won in 2021 but they seem to still be a popular franchise choice in The Show year in year out regardless how they play IRL.

Hoping to see cleveland on this list soon ...... I'm getting old.

I like the added asterisk.

That's because the first generation that grew up looking for challenges like that in sports games are now managing those teams in real life. Let's see when the first guy is cracking the hard mode in real life and wins with the Mariners.

Re: Help Me Choose a Franchise Team (Official Thread)

Getting ready to start my franchise for the year now that I have my sliders locked in. I’m a massive Orioles fan and absolutely love this team. Just not positive I want to roll with them for a few reasons.

For starters, it will be insanely easy, top 5 roster in baseball already with a top 5 farm system. Team control over almost the entire team for 4-5 years. Secondly, over exposure to the team, having played all 162 with them last year and watching almost all 162 IRL last year and this year, it’s just a lot of Orioles baseball lol. Lastly I will be trying too hard to replicate what they’re doing IRL. Between stats and rosters moves, I will be over analyzing it every step of the way.

My fear with trying a new team is I won’t have nearly the connection I have with the Orioles. I know I won’t lose interest in my Orioles franchise because we will be winning and I like literally every guy on our roster.

What do you guys normally do? Go with a team that you’re very familiar with, know exactly how they set their lineups and use their bullpen? Or do you like starting fresh and making your own decisions based purely off in game experiences?

I need to be the Mets, but its okay if the players on my Mets aren't the same as the real Mets. Its about the name on the jersey front more than the the jersey back.

I'm a huge Guardians fan but their roster is too young and decent already, and I prefer to play with a team that needs a rebuild and see what I can do with it. So I'm cool with using a different team for the show and pretending it's an entirely different baseball world.
