Road to the Show 24 - How Is Yours Going?

New year, New RTTS!

I started as I always do, hot corner slugger. I guess if you wanna be game technical, a "sparking slugger."

Stupid me, I didn't do any batting practice and just jumped into the combine. I ended up getting a C for hitting, which i wasn't pleased with. Wasn't hard or anything, just didn't get my groove back fast enough during the limited number of pitches. Finished with "A" in fielding, and proceeded to the 4 games.

I did ok. I got a hit in 3 of the 4 games. Nothing over the top. My projection ended up being for the 6th round.

Draft came around, and I ended up indeed going in the 6th to the Angel's. Actually, I was happy a 3B needy team took me, so I didn't have to sit behind a star.

I flew to the majors, and I mean flew. I lit up AA batting over .400, and hit over .350 in AAA, and managed to sneak into the majors for 49 games. I hit .303 with 17hrs and 49 RBI, cruising to rookie of the year honors. I'm glad it shows on my player card. Gone are the notebooks with player awards I used to keep.

I resigned with the team following my first year. 2 years, $1.6 million.

As of now, I am just playing an entire series, followed up by simming the next series. Unless it's a 4 game series or a ballpark I enjoy playing in ex: Fenway Park, Roger's Center, Coors etc etc. For me, it's a good balance of not feeling too short of a career or too long.

Will update at the midpoint of my first full season in the Majors.

Let's see your story.

Only thing I am finding different are the pitchers. Obviously as I climbed through the ranks that got smarter, and deadlier with thier breaking pitches. That's to be expected tho.

I am on default Vet, with one tic to the right on CPU fastball speed as its too slow for my eyes. maybe switching to dynamic here soon for a full season, and then up to my usual All-Star.

I play on legend so i got a false sense of confidence tearing the cover off the ball in AA. Once i got called up to AAA i got a reality check lol

Re: RTTS 24- How is yours going?

I played Outfield last year so I made a SS this year. Got drafted in the 8th round by the Reds. I was scared because they have a great young SS in Elly De La Cruz, but excited cause I live in Chattanooga so I get to play for my local Lookouts. I blew through AA and moved to AAA. After a few games the coach came to me, and suggested I move positions to 3B or maybe seek a trade. I took the 3B option, and ended up getting called up a little bit after the switch. Tearing up MLB currently and only have about 2 weeks left in the regular season. I will admit I play on lower difficulties in RTTS. I play on Allstar for franchise.

Re: RTTS 24- How is yours going?

I've started two.

The first was a slugging first baseman that I only hit with. No fielding. No base running. Was soooooo bad at throwing to a base that I got a terrible rating in the combine. Drafted by the Rangers (Ugh) and hacking away at Frisco. Been a doubles machine and through the first few weeks, I was batting .400. Have slumped a bit recently and am hitting about .330 with one homer and about six doubles.

The second RTTS I started was a woman modeled after my niece. Super tall and athletic. Control pitcher. Creation was unique, but almost immediately the dialogue slows things down. Constant texting between a friend and my character about the combine. Then, when I finally got through what felt like hours of texting simulation, I got to pitch. I throw a great game, hitting the corners and not getting hit too much. But then it becomes a dialogue and texting sim again. I haven't played a game yet because I am stuck in this crappy conversation. Even the draft is a long text sim.

Terrible.

Re: RTTS 24- How is yours going?

Started my 8 RTTS last week and playing a series with each before jumping in another one (yeah, I know, I'm not normal!).

So, my lineup of RTTS looks like this :

1B : Mark Teixeira
2B : Roberto Alomar
3B : Chipper Jones
SS : Derek Jeter
LF : Barry Bonds
CF : Ken Griffey Jr.
RF : Tony Gwynn
RF : Vladimir Guerrero Sr.

So far so good. The batter I have the most success so far is Alomar. Seems like playing with Guerrero I swing at everything, while I tend to be so much more patient with Gwynn!

As for the settings, playing HoF with the Armor&Sword sliders.

I really enjoy the game and the mode!!

Is it just me or can you no longer create a speedster? I created a “contact” profile shortstop and he had 30 speed.
