I have no problem comparing apples to oranges but I do draw a line at comparing apples to pencils. It might not be until PS15 hits the market that a baseball game will look as good visually as AAA games on current gen consoles.
You can definitely compare graphics in games between genres. You can look around at what has become the standard around gaming in the last 5 years and see that there are things that AAA games in every genre are doing that The Show is not.

To say you can't compare The Show to other games or even other sports games is just dismissing the conversation entirely. Each type of game will have to make certain sacrifices graphically to get their games to run properly, but there is nothing outside of engine/dev limitations that should be keeping The Show from doing more graphically than it does now.

The series is simply behind the times graphically for a AAA game in general and for a sports game in particular.

Re: MLB The Show Graphics Discussion Thread

I was thinkin last night how much player collisions and managers and players bein able to argue calls and get ejected would add to the game.

Imagine player collisions on close plays at first and home or at 2nd during potential double plays. It would bring life to the game. Arguin calls and ejections would too.

I know it isn't graphical, but collisions are in that ballpark.

I may be confusing this with a different baseball game but I thought way back in the day we had ejections.

The show used to have it, but MLB made them take it out, If you mean for arguing calls.

Is it just me or does the night lighting in this shot from the Jeter trailer look improved? Something about it looks more dramatic or cinematic than what I'm used to seeing in the game. Could just be be for the video but it caught my eye.

No I think it's just you trying to find any improvements to the graphics.

I swear this "almost" looks like a PS3 version

It's so lame because it happens in real life and they can't censor that.
