GOURDE LIFTS KRAKEN IN SHOOTOUT THRILLER

Gourde comes up clutch as the Kraken earn 1st Shootout Victory

In their second meeting in this early season, the Wild and the Kraken played a close checking and defensive game as both teams started their backup goalies. Both netminders were up to the task as Driedger turned away 31 shots and Kahkonen stopped 39 shots.

After a scoreless overtime period, the teams took to the shootout to decide a winner. The Russian sensation Kirill Kaprizov would score first to put pressure on Seattle early. Jaden Schwartz, shooting first for Seattle would effortlessly bury a goal to tie it up. Next up for Minnesota, Kevin Fiala would ring his shot off the post. Yanni Gourde shooting second for Seattle, would outwait Kahkonen and roof it over his shoulder for a 2-1 lead. Chris Driedger flashed the five hole with Mats Zuccarello barreling down on him and quickly stack the pads to block the shot.

Thanks!! I don't know if my followers know this but I play in coach mode with custom 10 minute sliders. I feel that the game does a great job of simulating. Lots of variety in the score. A lot of my fun comes from adjusting lines and playing as the GM. At least for the first two seasons, this might change by the third season.
