Well we do know EA listens to criticism since the stupid EAGLE! and BIRDIE! things that would pop out of the hole got scrapped with the quickness.

I do have to think that was always going to be a toggle anyhow.

It was more concerning to me that anyone at EA even thought it looked good as implemented

Check the coaching section in career mode. Its in the menus somewhere and they have different challenges to teach you all the stuff.

Technically, they didn't scrap them. There is a "Hole Out VFX" option that can be enabled/disabled.

Ok, my mistake then. I just assumed they were gone when I didn't see them happen.

The way the ball rolls at St. Andrews makes this course absolutely no fun like it should be. It's atrocious.

One of the streamers yesterday - I forget who it was - drove 4 or 5 par-4s off the tee at St Andrews in their British Am rounds, due to 80-100 yards of rollout.

Maybe it does roll out to those distances in real life...but even if that's the case, the way the roll out looks is so...odd. Like it's rolling over hardwood floors or something? It doesn't look like natural interaction between ball and turf.
