I personally own two copies and have had plenty of positive to things to say about the game, while also being critical. I think I've been fair about it overall.

MSFS = Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 (and 2024 - a new version is coming)


It's a live service game with the devs being extremely open.

As of June 2023 the series had sold over 22 million copies across all platforms
(it's on PC, XBSX and XBXX)

I'm surprised you've not heard of it at least - maybe just the abbreviation didn't ring a bell?

Couldn't be me either. I'm not biased against EA. I always preferred their hockey games over 2k. I thought Madden until the exclusivity thing kicked in was equal to if not better than 2k. I thought NBA Live was a decent alternative to the 2k version which has gotten stale of late. EA made some decent baseball games in the past. I just think they screwed the pooch in the golf space. If you like it fine but it's not my cup of tea.

What is your confidence that EA will do another Season? It seems strange that nothing has been released yet about anything additional.

I think they'll do another season. But I see 3 potential outcomes:

1) My lowered expectations are that they will do some bug fixes in a patch and add another Pro Pass, and that will be it.

2) My heart says they'll release the Augusta Par-3 Course as part of it, too.

3) My pie-in-the-sky vision is they'll do all the above and also release a roadmap with plans for the rest of 2024, including major host courses.

My gut says it'll likely be Option 1, with a 50/50 chance of Option 2 being in there as well.

I have absolutely zero expectations

Just hate how these games say they are a “live service” but just for 1 year. Gotta love the current state of gaming. Even 2k was the same thing. 1 year of content for a 2 year dev cycle.
