Week Zero National Games of Note

The story of Week Zero: Defending National Champions #1 LSU were absolutely blown out Between the Hedges as #20 Georgia rolled, 45-10. Georgia got up 35-3 at halftime and never looked back.

#2 Clemson was still on a mission to prove they belonged in last year's College Football Playoff as the Tigers dismantled 2041 CFP participant #6 Texas A&M by a score of 37-10. The Aggies were within 13-10 at halftime, but Clemson was simply too much in the second half, as the Tigers limited A&M to 244 total yards.

TEXAS IS BACK?? After finishing 6-6 last season, the #22 Longhorns opened up 2042 with a bang, defeating #9 Notre Dame by a final tally of 31-24.

#7 Wisconsin State (0-0) vs. Kent State (0-0) LIVE! Game Thread

EDIT idk why the tweets show up out of order in the thread. I clearly suck at Twitter. If you go to my TL they should be in (inverse) order.

Honestly we did not deserve to win. Hats off the Kent State. They ran the ball from the get go and didn’t get away from it and they almost won. They also hit key passes when it mattered. It felt like they converted about ten 3rd and longs in the first half.

This is honestly the first time I’ve been taken to the wire against a clearly inferior (81 OVR to our 99) team in NCAA 14. It’s kinda refreshing - I honestly didn’t know if it was possible. We will need a much better effort against Florida State!

Welcome aboard. The insane loss that was the NCAA franchise has only slightly been offset by dynasties like these - that take many years. For me it's been a pretty big upside and I've enjoyed it. I hope you have too, it looks like your dynasty has been a smashing success.

National Games of Note, Week 2, 2042

More Cowbell! Mississippi State lead throughout against #19 Florida ad held on for a 36-24 win. The Bulldogs improve to 2-0 while Florida falls to 1-1.

Shocker in Reno! #15 Arizona rolled into Reno has heavy favorites against Nevada, but things never got going. The Wildcats were held to just 270 yards, while the Wolfpack put up 456 of their own on their way to a shocking 37-17 upset blowout

Pretenders! #24 Boise State opened the year at home against #6 Washington in what they hoped would be a statement win on their way to contending for a New Year's Six Bowl Game, and possibly even crashing to College Football Playoff party. Those CFP dreams died quickly, as the Huskies dealt the Broncos a crushing 52-17 defeat.

Top Ten Pac-12 Thriller! #8 Stanford and #4 UCLA both opened the season with serious CFP dreams with the Bruins looking to claim a CFP spot in back to back years. This one came down to the wire, and the Bruins erased a 34-21 deficit with 8:00 to go, scoring with 1:30 to play to take a 35-34 win on their CFP Resume back to Westwood.

Rocky Top Rolls On! #5 Tennessee, fresh off back-to-back Top 10 Seasons, including a CFP appearance in 2040, faced an early season test at home against #13 Oklahoma. Despite trailing 21-19 at halftime, the Vols surged in the second half, scoring the next 24 points en route to a 43-31 statement victory.

Top 100 Athlete Commits to Porcupines

Despite the close call against Kent State on Saturday night, the weekend was a success on the recruiting front, as Athlete Justin Franklin gave the Porcupines a verbal pledge. Franklin is considered a Top 100 prospect in the country, checking in at #82 in 247 Sports' composite rankings. Franklin, a product of Ada, Oklahoma, is 5'10", 181 pounds and projects as an APB/WR at Wisconsin State. With the receiver depth chart very top heavy, he could be in line for immediate playing time next fall.

Man, what a great game! Very hard fought game on both sides. We grabbed an interception on the first play of the game and the offense converted for a TD. I thought it might be one of those games where we just run away with it. Not so much.

After a hot start, Hyatt really struggled (though the receivers didn’t help him with six drops). FSU’s game plan was to take away QB run game, and they did so very well. The defense played pretty well, but not good enough. FSU RB Jacques Patrick scores all four TDs - two on the ground and two through the air, including the eventual game winner on a screen pass with under a minute to go.

We did drive all the way down to the FSU 16 with 0:08 to play, but Hyatt threw his second pick of the game, ending the last second hopes.

Week 3, 2042 National Games of Note

Upset of the Century: Top Ranked Clemson Falls to Hawaii In one of the biggest upsets in recent history, the Warriors took 14-0 lead in the first quarter, and battled all game long. A score with 6:33 to go broke the tie to give Hawaii a history 35-28 win over the #1 Tigers.

Hogs Contenders? #20 Arkansas headed to Rocky Top this week !to take on #5 Tennessee and show that they could contend on both the SEC and national stages. The Vols, fresh off a big win over Oklahoma, struggled early, falling behind 14-0 in the first five minutes. Tennessee fought back, claiming a 20-17 halftime lead, and extended that lead to 27-17 going into the final frame. The Razorbacks got the last laugh, though, scoring the final 13 points of the game, including a 50 yard filed with 3:08 to play to deliver them a statement 30-27 victory, showing the country they're for real.

Season down in Flames: Just one week after being ranked in the Top 15, Arizona lost yet again to an unranked G5 school. This time, Kent State came into Tuscon and dominated throughout, taking a 28-3 lead into the locker room before ultimately winning 38-17. The Wildcats, who had high hopes of contending for the Pac-12 title, are seeing their season implode before conference play even begins.

Rivalry Renewed! Catholics vs. Convicts. This decades old rivalry was renewed as #15 Notre Dame took on #9 Miami in South Florida. Not even God could help the Irish this day, though, as Irish Eyes were certainly not smiling. Miami never trailed en route to an impressive 41-21 victory.
