I wonder if Louisville would make a run at Eric Musselman or Mick Cronin? Or Pat Kelsey at College of Charleston?

I personally think they go after Josh Schertz at Indiana State, they are playing in the NIT right now but what he did at Indiana State this year he deserves a big time job. I really thought they would make the tournament they were 28-6 when the regular season ended.

The Muss rumors are running wild here in Fayetteville but I would be a little surprised if he leaves, although honestly I think we are going to be bad in November and beyond which could lead to his firing too. Apparently we have a transfer making an unofficial visit tomorrow and Wednesday so again I doubt that he leaves but I guess we will see.

Pat Kelsey would be a solid hire in my opinion, hes had success at Winthrop and CoC. Pretty sure hes a program builder too which is exactly what Louisville needs right now.

Re: 2023-24 College Hoops Thread

Cal's future at Kentucky to be decided today. Sounds like he's coming back but he's on the hottest of hot seats next year. It's going to be a pressure cooker.

Not to mention Duke and Kentucky play early next year. If he loses that game then it's gonna start off even more uncomfortable in Lexington.

He better have a plan. Or it's going to be a miserable year for him. He needs to hire someone that is an expert on pressing and zone defenses.

Every ****ing team I watched in this tournament switches defenses. It's not a secret why. Even his beloved NBA is starting to play more zone.

He also better hit the transfer portal hard. And get some good experienced upperclassmen. Last chance Cal.

Tubby Smith didn't deserve the treatment he got. But you're on borrowed time and it can get ugly here in a hurry. Not to mention the majority of the fanbase is furious with him. And rightfully so.

Local radio/news reports that its Josh Schertz job to turn down. If he doesn't take the job, Richard Pitino is the backup plan.

I was joking with my brother that they would hire Richard Pitino.

Holy crap, they may do it.

I don't get it. If his name was Richard Smith, would anyone hire him? He failed at Minnesota and has been slightly above average at New Mexico.

Sounds like Calipari will be coming back next season after meeting with Mitch Barnhart today.

Will be an interesting offseason for sure. And the pressure next season will be intense.

He was 54-96 in the Big 10, that is abysmal. He really doesnt deserve the Louisville job at all.

Re: 2023-24 College Hoops Thread

Seems as though Louisville is going to hire Pat Kelsey from Charleston.

At this rate, I truly don't think any hire could've made me boast with excitement after the past two years. I just want a competent coach who can get us back to winning.
