Yeah, it was a tough loss. I expected to lose the game, but thought we had a chance and we did. I didn't expect to win, but I hate getting so close only to lose.

Yes, I like this format the best. It gives me a chance to write a bit while still getting the important stuff across. I got this format from a guy over at the 2K boards and made some slight modifications to it and now I really like it! It doesn't take too long to do the recaps, yet it still akes a good read in my opinion.

Princeton Scores Huge Victory Over Manhattan at Home

12/16/07 vs. Manhattan (6-3)

Final: 82-56

The Princeton Tigers scored a huge win at home over the Manhattan Jaspers in this affair, as the Tigers shot a season-high 54% compared to the Jaspers' 34% field goal shooting. Manhattan got the early lead in the game, but Princeton would eventually go up by as much as 10 in the first half before Manhattan cut the lead to five at halftime giving Princeton a 37-32 halftime lead. Manhattan would go on a bit of a run early in the second half, getting within two points at one point with the score 50-48, but Princeton would go on a huge run afterwards as the Tigers outscored the Jaspers 45-24 in the second half. 45 points in the most Princeton has scored in a single half this entire season and Coach Frizzell was impressed with the way his team played. "We played very well," he commented. "We just gelled tonight, played good defense, and finally shot the ball well. We got a little more involved in some fastbreak opportunities in this game as well. I believe we scored 14 points on the fastbreak." The Tigers were lead by surprise star in Lincoln Gunn, who came off the bench to hit four threes in the first half. The sophomore guard would scored 19 points total in the game off of 7/10 shooting and also went 5/7 from downtown. "It felt great to finally get my game going," Gunn commented. "I know I have the ability to step up and help my team, I have just been a little sluggish so far this season. Hopefully, this changes that!"

Princeton Narrowly Escpaes With Upset Over Marshall

12/22/07 @ Marshall (4-2)

Final: 62-59

The Marshall Thundering Herd have played well this season thus far and are considered by many to be the second best team in Conference USA behind Memphis. Who thought the Princeton Tigers would roll into Huntington and pull off the upset? They did, however, off of hard work and determination. After a back-and-forth game, Marshall was behind 60-59 with just 25 seconds reamaining and the ball. The ran down the game clock and shot an open three pointer with just six seconds left which bricked off the rim. The crowd went silent as Princeton pulled down the rebound. Koncz went to the charity stripe with just 1.2 seconds remaining and sank both to make the score 62-59. A full court heave by Marshall fell about 15 feet short as the Princeton Tigers pulled off the stunning victory. "I guess it was a little home state magic," commented Coach Frizzell after the game. "I was actually born in North Carolina, but moved here when I was 11. I lived down in Teays Valley, which is about 30 minutes down Interstate 64 to the west, so maybe this is a little home-cooking. Well, in any case, we churned out a nice victory today. My only disappointment was the free throw shooting, which we have struggled with all year. We only shot 6/13 from the charity stripe today, but hopefully we can improve on that as we head into conference play. Also, Merry Christmas to our fans, as this is our last game before Christmas and I think we got a good present with this victory!"

Chris Petrie Injured

Apparently, sophomore guard Chris Petrie puled his quadricep in the Marshall game. Right now, he is listed as day-to-day, but his injury will persist for another month or so. "I just hope I can get out there on the court as soon as possible," Petrie commented. "I am willing to play injured if that's what it takes." Coach Frizzell commented, "We will try to get him back as soon as we can. Without Chris, we only have an eight man rotation, so I think it is crucial we get him back in to deepen our bench."

Princeton Narrowly Escapes Monmouth

12/30/07 @ Monmoth (4-9)

Final: 74-70

The Princeton Tigers would fall behind early in this one and were behind 35-29 at halftime, but outscored Monmouth 45-35 in the second half to move back to .500 on the season at 6-6. Princeton had the ball with 10 seconds left and ahead by two. The shot clock ran down, forcing Princeton to shoot it, but they missed, but got the rebound and were fouled. After a couple more fouls, Koncz was sent to the line with 0.9 seconds left. He drained both free throws to make it 74-70 and iced the game as Princeton won by four. Koncz starred today, scoring 26 points off of 8/13 shooting, including 4/6 from three point range and a perfect 6/6 from the foul line. "We played well," commented Coach Frizzell. "The first half was a little shaky, but a good second half effort got us the win today. After having such a horrible time at the free throw line in our previous game, we had a good game today, as we hit 15/17 free throws, ultimately giving us the win. I certainly hope we can keep this up."
