Re: NBA 2K23 - The Kobe Era Reimagined

It was a huge night for starting small forwards in Milwaukee as both Richard Jefferson (42 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds) and Michael Redd (34 points) set new career-highs. The game was a thriller, coming down to the wire. Milwaukee went on a three point shooting barrage, hitting 18 of 29, including a perfect 6-6 third quarter where they took the lead. The fourth was a battle with big plays by Ray Allen (31 points), Sam Cassell (16 points, 10 assists), Kenyon Martin (21 points, 18 rebounds), and Jason Kidd (14 points, 13 assists). Kidd’s three put the Nets up for good but the Bucks kept scoring and sending them to the line. Kerry Kittles (13 points) split a pair, putting the Bucks down two. Allen missed a pull-up jumper and the Nets got the rebound but their pass was tipped into Redd’s hands. He drilled a jumper at the buzzer but it was waved off as it came after 0.0, giving the Nets a 117-115 win.

Around the League
• Tracy McGrady leads the league in scoring (31.4ppg). The closest person to him is Tim Duncan (26.9). Duncan leads in rebounding (14.6) ahead of Ben Wallace (13.6). Jason Williams has the assists lead (10.6) ahead of Jason Kidd (10.5). Kidd leads in steals (2.3) above Allen Iverson (2.2). Shaquille O’Neal leads in blocks (2.5) ahead of Duncan (2.4).
• The Timberwolves beat the Spurs on 2/26, giving them the lead in the West 40-15 over San Antonio’s 40-16 record. Detroit still leads the East by five games at 41-13.
• Despite Detroit’s success, Rasheed Wallace (7.6ppg) is said to be very unhappy. He struggled early and lost his starting job to rookie Chris Bosh (15.0ppg). The Pistons aren’t eager to make a move though since he still plays a key part of their defense.

Re: NBA 2K23 - The Kobe Era Reimagined

In Phoenix, Allen Iverson did Allen Iverson things. He poured in a season-high 50 points to go along with 8 assists, leading Philly to a 107-99 win. The experiment to get him a #2 scorer hasn’t panned out this season but Iverson is making the most of it despite getting just 12 points a piece from Keith Van Horn and Juwan Howard. Amar’e Stoudemire led Phoenix with 28 points and 12 rebounds, while Stephon Marbury scored 21 and dished 10 dimes.

Re: NBA 2K23 - The Kobe Era Reimagined

It seems like the Grizzlies were doing everything in their power to lose this game. They made several key late mistakes, fouling the Spurs on three consecutive jumpers to get them back into it. Then, after Tony Parker (19 points) missed a jumper late, Tim Duncan (22 points, 23 rebounds) tipped it out to Bruce Bowen (5 points) who nailed a three at the buzzer to send it into overtime. Memphis ended up shutting the door late, allowing just two overtime points to win 112-107. Pau Gasol (21 points, 8 rebounds) and Jason Williams (18 points, 10 assists) led a balanced attack.
