Re: A Fictional History of Baseball - 1871 - Present (OOTP 17)

1877 Regular Season Recap

News / Trades
- On July 3 rumors spread that Boston RF Harry Hawkins has asked for a trade. He is allegedly unhappy with fans and team management, and the pressure and demands of playing in Boston are too great. Hawkins, 33, has been a part of the Brooklyn Blue Stockings, Baltimore Baybirds, Philadelphia Quakers, New York Nationals, and Boston Beans organization.

- Hartford clinched their spot in the postseason on July 4. "I couldn't be prouder of this team," said the Whales manager. "These guys worked their tails off all season long, so they've definitely earned this. We've still got a long way to go to reach our ultimate goal and that's a championship trophy. So we're gonna celebrate and just let this all sink in tonight, but it's back to work tomorrow." The Whales will face juggernaught Chicago, who is making their third straight Championship appearance.
