Re: A Fictional History of Baseball - 1871 - Present (OOTP 17)
Tom Riddle Buys Blackeyes, Announces Plan To Move Team To Worcester, MA New owner Pat Riddle The National League announced in early January that 55 year old Pat Riddle planned to purchase the Syracuse Blackeyes from Billy Goff. Riddle, 55, is a popular civic leader and businessman in the Northeast. Unenthused by the local support the Blackeyes received during their inaugural 1879 season, Riddle has announced that he plans to move the team to Worcester, MA and rename them from Blackeyes to Wrens. The deal is expected to be approved by NL officials next week. |
